Question The Most Bizarre Series Finale?

What do you think is the most bizarre or strangest series finale?

My personal choice is a show from the mid 80's (I can't remember the name- help!) with a father and kids (Juliette Lewis was one of the kids)and the final episode the father was talking to his wife/girlfriend(?) and she asked him if had cancelled some appointment or something (sorry so vague-- if anyone remembers the details I'd love to hear them!) and he turned to the audience and said "no, but we're cancelled" or something like that and they all bowed to the audience and that was it. It was really weird.

That's my vote for the most bizarre, and although its not the "series" finale, I think that the end of Survivor I was weird-- I STILL can't believe Richard won!

Cool

That's probably a good choice. The show by the way is 'I Married Dora'.

Question

Am I the only person alive who hasn't actually seen the Seinfeld finale? Why was it so bad?

I haven't seen the Seinfeld finale either, and personally, I don't intend to. I hated the show.

I think the Seinfeld series finale was brilliant. It's such an original idea, not a sappy finale filled with cliches. Plus it was funny.

not a sitcom, but the finale to St. Elsewhere was pretty messed up too, similar to the famous Newhart finale. I think it'll be airing on Bravo in the next few days.

I love Seinfeld but they had one of the strangest Series finales by sending all the characters to jail. another one is one of those Bob Newhart shows. I don't know which one is called which but it was the one where he wakes up and his whole series was just a 8 season dream.

part 1: Ugh!I hated that show,I Married Dora.I believe it starred Maria Conchita Olonzo.Juliet Lewis was one of the kids. The father had hired a Spanish maid, and when she was going to get deported ,he married her so he could "Keep"her. What kind of message was he sending his kids THERE.
part 2:While I loved Seinfeld, the last seaon of it was pretty bad.The finale was AWFUL>What they tryed to do was cram as many as the charactors they had had as extras on the show into a courtroom scene....and Jerry Elaine and George end up in prison. Why is Elaine in the same cell with the guys????

Default bizarre (sp) finally

I agree Seinfields finally was very strange and a little disappointing to say the least. A series finally I thought was also a bit strange was Roseanne, where the whole last season or so (her getting rich going to Marthas Vineyard blah blah blah) was just her writing about it, i remember when she got the desk and whatnot but i was a bit confused.

It was Newhart (Bob Newharts second sitcom) that had the best finale. Where the Japanese man came and bought the whole town and turned it into a golf course (EXCEPT the inn) Then the Darylls start talking and Dick gets hit with a golf ball and wakes up back on his first sitcom.

I agree with those who have suggested "St. Elsewhere" and "Newhart."
Both series were the dreams of one of the characters!
Best plot twist ever!!!

Same thing with "Roseanne." In the last few minutes she reveals that all the adventures of the Connor family were just stories she wrote in a book.

Wasn't the whole "bubble scene" at the end of the finale of "Home Improvement" a dream sequence? I mean, did Tim and the family really move to Bloomington, Indiana (the house included)? Granted, I think it would have been a great change of pace than being on a Jerry Springer-like version of "Tool Time".
