Default 40 Years Ago Tonight

5 Lives were cruelly and tragically cut short.

Tonight is the 40th Anniversary of the Manson Murders. It was 40 years ago that Abigail Folger, Steven Parent, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Sharon Tate and her unborn baby (buried as Paul Tate Polanski) were murdered by Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins. The murderers are all still behind bars, but the victims remain young, beautiful, and innocent.

May God forgive them all their sins, and let them rest in peace. God bless them all.

I was just reading an article about the 40th Anniversary.

I've always been fascinated by Charles Manson, it blows my mind that someone could do such horrible things and feel no remorse.

^ And how he can still be alive and well while so many good people have died young and tragically just blows my mind.

The sad part is, he's spent most of his life in prison, so he's quite happy there. He'd rather be in prison than be a free man. What kind of punishment is he getting?

Exactly. He should have been executed a long time ago.

I've been fascinated with Manson too. I've seen many interviews of his and he is all over the place; he's actually somewhat entertaining.

Sad

Such a sad story. A night of horror that I can't even fathom. My brother turns 40 this October, and I always think that Sharon's son would be his age now, had he been given a chance to live.

Unfortunately, California temporarily abolished the death penalty in 1972 and
Manson's sentence was changed to life without parole.

Actually, it was changed to life WITH the posibility of parole. But he and all of the Family members associated with the murders have been continuously denied parole.

One member has gotten out. Steve Grogan who was convicted of killing Don Shea was paroled in 1985. He is the only Manson family member who murdered someone who is out of prison.

The whole Manson thing is one bizzare tale that even includes the Beach Boys and the Beatles.

Yes, and Manson doesn't even go to most of his parole hearings. He doesn't want to get out
