Default Breast-Feeding Baby Doll Causes Outrage

Quote:
LOS ANGELES -- A Spanish-made baby doll that imitates life, perhaps a little too well, is causing stir with some folks who think the toy maker has gone too far.

Oh No

That's taking things a bit too far. Don't kids already know enough stuff that they shouldn't?

"too sexual"

I don't see why people make such a big deal out of everything.

i personally don't see anything wrong with it. i see mothers breastfeed their babies in front of their older children all the time and the kids are not fazed by witnessing it. its a perfectly natural and loving act, a mother nurturing her child, why must people make something vulgar out of a child wanting to mimic that closeness through a play object? why is it that g.i. joe action figures are ok, complete with guns?

It's hypocritical of me to agree with PunkyPOWER's comments and still find this doll a little disturbing. I agree that it's a crazy society we live in that allows children to play with action figures who use weapons. I guess I find the doll a little disturbing because of... well, frankly, I'm not really sure. Maybe it's just because it's so different than anything I've seen before. There's really nothing wrong with breast-feeding, but it seems like a young child wouldn't really understand the "meaning" of breast-feeding.

If I sound like I'm saying stupid things here, it's because I am. In all honesty, I don't really know why it disturbs me. There's really nothing wrong with it, other than the fact that it's very "bold" for this day and age. However, I could see this catching on. Maybe it's just because breast feeding is a very private thing and lots of people are uncomfortable about it due to the slight nudity.

I grew up watching my mom breast feed my 5 younger siblings and I breastfed my kids. But I think that there's something disturbing about this. Kids can playact this without a prop. It's weird! I wonder how many parents will actually buy this for their kids?

"Gluttonous baby?"
What a terrible name for a toy.
