Default Falling

Hey everybody.
Last week, I was at the library for a while and I was standing outside waiting for my ride when I fell. I had taken my laptop with me and I think I held onto it and protected it instead of bracing and protecting myself when my feet slipped and I fell right on my keester (sp.??) Actually I went down more on my middle and upper back. Anyway, I'm frustrated with my body because my joints and my back, an entire WEEK after this happened, are STILL hurting. I might understand more if I were in my 50s or 60s, but y'all, I'm in my mid-20s...I'm supposed to be at my physical peak and yet it's taking my body a whole WEEK to get over a simple fall??? WTF??? I was just wondering if any of y'all have taken any spills and been frustrated with your body like me because it can't seem to get over it.

I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you!! Maybe you did more damage than you think. You may only be in your mid-20s, but you never know.

I feel your pain, so to speak. I am such a klutz. I fell one time, and I fell back, and I ended up landing on my hand and broke my wrist. I was out of work for 3 months. Thankfully, it happened at work, so I was able to collect workman's comp. I also remember tripping on a sidewalk, part of it was elevated, and I didn't see it. Ended up falling on my knees, and even though my knees were throbbing, I was more embarrassed than anything.

Well that's only because all the smart people in the world are too intelligent to EVER get involved in politics!

I know exactly how you feel. Ever since I moved in with my best friend, I am ALWAYS stubbing my toes on her furniture! I am a complete and total klutz too!

Aaaawww. Thanks a lot, MickeyMac. I'll just be glad when I finally do get over it. I'm sort of beginning to wonder if I didn't do something to my back though because it has been a week and I did go down on concrete. LOL, to say the LEAST, not one of the more fun moments of my life. The librarians (who were friends with my dad for many years and had known me since birth) couldn't have been sweeter to me that day though...they even gave me SpongeBob SquarePants Band-Aids for my toe and my ankle that I scraped up. (I LOVE SpongeBob! )

I was on a jetboat once and we had stopped and were getting ready to go to a restaurant for lunch. My husband was trying to pull me out of the boat, and when I tried to step up onto the ledge, I slipped and somehow managed to fall face down into the boat. I put my right hand (the one I write with of course) out to brace myself and ended up breaking my wrist! That was the worst pain ever!

I am always falling down, though. I always lose my balance and usually end up banging up my knees.

Sorry to hear about your fall. Unfortunately those things can take forever to heal, but hopefully your recovery will be quick!

Andrea
