Are you thinking of Cleo? But she wan't on this show; she was on The People's Choice with Jackie Cooper.

...co-produced "THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE" with Irving Brecher, the creator/producer/occasional writer...and apparently, George liked the idea of Cleo, the basset hound, "commenting" on the plot during every episode to the viewers...after all, he was doing that himself on his OWN show!
