Paramount Pictures wants Channing Tatum's fans to decide for themselves whether the actor's summer blockbuster, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, is worth seeing.
The studio has decided not to preview the film for most critics before Friday's opening, reports the Associated Press. Paramount says it doesn't want a repeat of what happened to its other summer blockbuster, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. "After the chasm we experienced with Transformers 2 between the response of audiences and critics, we chose to forgo opening-day print and broadcast reviews as a strategy to promote G.I. Joe," said Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount. "We want audiences to define this film." http://www.people.com/people/news/0,,4,00.html |

From what I've seen it looks like there's nothing special about it; just some action summer film.
It will probably be blasted by G.I. Joe fans and be regarded as mediocre by everyone else. |

i don't think i will jump into conclusions just yet about the film because i haven't seen it and so i cannot form an opinion on it, yet. yes the film has been slated by critics and fans, but i need to see it for myself and find out whether or not i like it. the posters btw look kind of cool.

Aw. looks like Paramount is taking it's ball and going home.
Seriously, did Paramount expect Transformers to get rave reviews from the toughest film critics in the biz? "Transformers is the best film of the year!" - Variety Megan Fox gives an Oscar worthy performance!" - New York Times "If Gene were here, he'd give it a thumbs up too!" - Roger Ebert Please. I give them credit for thumbing thier nose at the establishment, but once the fanboys start posting thier reviews on thier websites, you'll know the verdict. And this is a movie that can't disappoint the fanboys.
