In an episode of Rossanne dans mother appears she says dan put her in a hospital for years. but in an earlier episode like a year earlier dan takes his mother to a mental hopsital. So how long was she actually there?

She was in and out of hospitals for most of her adult life...even when Dan was a child. I'm not sure how long she stayed at the hospital in California... I dont think it was ever mentioned how long she was there.

I think he said somewhere around 25 years, so maybe he was adding all the times she went together.

I thought the storyline with Dan's mom's mental illness wasn't well explained. I think it was mentioned she had scheziophernia or bipolar.

I agree, I also think they should of put more of Dan's Mother in the show..rather than just over the telephone or on certain holidays. The episode where Dan gets drunk and goes over to Crystals house to speak to Ed well... the ending to that is heart breaking when Roseanne tells him the truth about his Mother and he crys.

I love the 2nd to last episode where she returns as Debbie Reynolds. That episode had some great one liners.
