I just read somewhere that FLO was a spin-off, can anyone clearify this for me?

Well, Flo was a recurring character on the show Alice, but as the character kept getting less and less attention, and made less appearences, they gave her a show, called Flo. It wasn't that much of a hit, but fans of Alice like it.
