Exclamation Dustin Diamond banned from "Saved by the Bell" reunion

The "Saved by the Bell" gang's all here - but wait a minute, where's Screech?

Bayside High's lovable geek, played by Dustin Diamond, was notably absent from the cast's photo reunion on the cover of People magazine, released earlier this week.

Was it because of his upcoming tell-all book? His gross-out sex tape scandal? His "Celebrity Fit Club" meltdowns and financial troubles?

Yes, yes, yes and yes, according to RadarOnline, which reports that Diamond was purposely excluded by his former castmates.

“Cast members were not comfortable with including him,” a spokesperson for People told the Web site.

Diamond's much-anticipated "Bell" memoir is the reason his old pals' defenses are up, the rep says. As Radar notes, Mark-Paul Gosselaar openly slammed the tome in a recent issue of Newsweek.

"What is he going to say?" Gosselaar asked sarcastically. "We were (bleeping) groupies at 14? I can't wait to read his book, because I don't have a memory of a lot of the shows. Maybe it was because I was doing lines off of the audience members' a----. I'm sure he's going to write something crazy like that. So he's writing a book, I'm not really afraid of what he has to say. There are not too many skeletons in my closet."

And how did Diamond feel about the blatant snub? Apparently the same way Screech felt after being repeatedly dissed by Lisa Turtle.

"Of course he cared he wasn't invited," a source close to Diamond told Radar. "Wouldn't you?"

Wow. Zack, Kelly, Slater, Lisa and Jessie FINALLY realize they're too cool to hang around with the nerdy Screech. Because they had no problem hanging out with him in high school.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I can completely understand why they wouldn't want him there. And on the other hand, it'd be nice to see the WHOLE gang back together again. And Screech was a part of the show from 1988 all the way to 2000 (with the New Class).

I wouldn't include him either after seeing the way he was on Celebrity Fitness. He thought he was the biggest thing in life on there! He's miserable because he's broke.

In her book, Maureen McCormick said he was the only one she didn't like in the CFC cast.

I couldn't stand Dustin either on Celebrity Fit Club and he was a jerk for always calling Kim Locke a American Idol loser. She later made fun of how he was t-shirts to pay off his debts.

I don't blame them at all for not wanting him as a part of the reunion. He was such a jerk on Celebrity Fit Club, and he seems just all around bitter and unpleasant.

My feeling exactly. He brought it all on himself with his rotten attitude.

The cast doesn't want him to be involved as do the majority of fans. He shouldn't take it personal and just move on. He has bigger issues to worry about... like trying to figure out how a person could work on a hit TV sitcom for over ten years and still be in debt.

I totally disagree!!! I think he was unnecessarily mean and plain old ugly to Kimberly Locke especially and a jerk to all the other cast members who tried to befriend him on the show. Plus, he tried to start a fight with one of the advisors/judges...I can't remember his name.

I agree with all of you....and that little pissant had the balls to challenge Harvey of all people- lol

like dude, have you seen Harvey? He will butter you up and EAT YOU lol. Stupid Stupid Stupid. But I'm glad in a way that they didn't have to deal with his bs, but I agree that the whole cast should be their. Even for a photo shoot or a short reunion. Just get it over with and have him their. But they had the luxury of excluding him . Poor Screech.
