Angry What happened to MTV?

Well, here's another thread I've made about that it was better back in the days.^^

But what happened to MTV? When it started in 1981 there was 24 hour music, and they kept doing that the whole 80's, and nearly the whole 90's. They did start to show Beavis & Butthead in the early 90's though.

But since the 00's started, MTV started to show reality Shows.. loads of them. There's barely any music on MTV anymore, and there's onlty new music.

MTV, it stands for Music Television. So why are there so little time with music on there? Does someone agree?

I was thinking the same thing just this morning. This channel is a piece of junk. I was looking at The real world and they gave a countdown of shows they will be doing. I was shocked.

I have never been a big fan of MTV but at least during the first four years it was somewhat watchable, and the veejays were cool too. They may as well pull the plug on this channel.

The only thing I ever watched on MTV was Remote Control back in the late 80's. That was a good gameshow.

I'd watch MTV if they showed 24 hours music without the stupid reality shows. I mean the show is not even about music. They're about people's birthdays, people who wants to loose weight, and all that.

I love today's MTV and would probably watch much less if it was videos 24/7. I watch their videos in the morning (along with VH1's) and that's good enough for me. Most teens watch videos on YouTube anyway.

Music videos don't get airplay anymore. MTV is not to blame for that. TRL died after a decade. And their attempt to bring back videos... FNMTV and FNMTV Premiers failed. They tried.

Plus, why would they show videos 24/7? They have a user-friendly website with thousands videos. Plus, we all have YouTube.

The only shows I like on mtv are True Life and 16 and Pregnant. Those shows are more documentary type show than reality.
