Default Slater Should Have Ended Up With Theresa Alvarez From, 'Slater's War'

Saved By The Bell (The College Years)-In the episode, "Slater's War", Theresa was the beautiful student activist that lead Slater to embrace his Hispanic heritage. I always thought that she could have served more purpose as his girlfriend then his past ones! She was the only one to discover his true identity. She made him delve deep within himself to find out who he really was. Their relationship would have had some depth. It's a shame that we never seen her anymore past that one episode.

Slater & Alex- had no chemistry, why the producers paired them up was beyond me.

Slater & Jessie- while they did have an interesting "oil doesn't mix with water" relationship, they were both on completly different pages and half the time, they didn't even get along anyway!

I thought the writers wanted AC Slater to go back to being a non-descriptive "other." Not white, not black, Asian... just something else.

Back to the girl.. she was even more extreme than Jessie. He probably got over chicks like that after his first failed relationship. Or maybe she was just the cute yet somewhat nerdy classmate. He just didn't have the hots for her.

She got on my nerves! i've not seen this ep in awhile, but I remember her being a little too extreme, pushing Slater away from his friends.

The only one I could picture Slater with is Jessie. They were definately oil and water but that kept them interesting.

I liked the girl he met at the beach club in the last episode, I also thought Theresa was good for a college fling. I always saw something with Slater and Lisa too.

I agree! Theresa Alvarez (Ara Celi) would've been a perfect match for Slater instead of Alex (Kiersten Warren).

I enthusiastically concur, Gemini_89! "Slater's War" is probably my episode of "SBTB: The College Years." Theresa and Slater would've made a fantastic couple. And you're right--it's a disgrace that Theresa didn't remain as a recurring character on "SBTB: The College Years"; perhaps Theresa would've helped Slater embrace his Latino heritage and even taught him some more Spanish (though Slater knew some Spanish, he didn't speak it fluently). In my opinion, Ara Celi delivered a brilliant performance as Theresa...she was quite attractive!

I also think that "Slater's War" should've been a two-part episode, with Slater, Theresa, and the rest of the students participating in the sit-in getting arrested. Slater's Army officer father, Major Martin Slater (Gerald Castillo), would've appeared in part two, collaborating on a plan with Zack (while arguing and disagreeing with him during the course of the episode) to bail Slater and Theresa out of jail. Just tossing in my two cents, folks.

I think Danielle Marks (Essence Atkins)--from the pilot episode--would've been an interesting choice for Slater to date, had Peter Engel not replaced Atkins with Tiffani Thiessen in episode two ("Guess Who's Coming To College?").

At one point, the writers made it look like Slater and Lisa were going to get together. When they competed against each other during the 4th of July competition at the beach club place, he asks her to be his date to the dance that night and she tells him "Yes.".

God bless you always!!!

Yes, looking back at some episodes they had chemistry!
