Default New 'Days' Ahead for Sorel and Sabatino

http://soapoperadigest.com/news/breaking/

Another Alamain Back To DAYS!
It's official: Soap Opera Digest can confirm that Louise Sorel (Vivian) is returning to Salem in the fall. Look for her to hit town in late September. As previously reported, Crystal Chappell (Carly) is also coming back to the show.

Michael Sabatino Back To Salem
On Monday, Digest jumped the gun by making an announcement on our site that Sabatino (ex-Lawrence) will return to DAYS. Now Sabatino's wife, Crystal Chappell (Olivia, GL; ex-Carly, DAYS), who is also set to reprise her DAYS role in August, has confirmed it via the following Twitter post: "Michael will indeed pop up on DOOL."

Louise Sorel originally played Vivian Alamain from June 1992 to August 2000. She's also appeared as Augusta Lockridge on "Santa Barbara," Judith Sanders on "One Life to Live," and in brief guest stints on "Port Charles," "All My Children," and "Passions."

Michael Sabatino originally played Lawrence Alamain from September 1990 to October 1993. He's also appeared as Chip Roberts on "Knots Landing," Anthony Armando on "The Bold and the Beautiful," Dr. Jonathan Kinder on "All My Children," J.T. Carroll on "Passions," and a brief stint on "Guiding Light."

Sorel and Sabatino join other Salem returnees (and soap-hoppers) Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis, 1987-1991) and Crystal Chappell (Carly Manning, 1990-1993).

Normally I would be jumping for joy at this news, because I loved the character of Carly and Michel Sabatino was absolutely wonderful as Lawrence Alamain (although I HATED Lawrence with a purple passion for what Lawrence did to Jennifer Horton). However, Days has a terrible habit of bringing back beloved characters (namely Steve and Kayla and especially Jack Deveraux-the best character of all!) and then firing them when they get tired of them. I can just see this happening. If Days was smart, they would reunite EVERYONE; Justin, Adrienne, Steve, Kayla, Lawrence, Jack, Jennifer, etc and make the show the way it USED to be. GOOD!

Sigh... the good old "Days".

AMEN!! Louise Sorel is one of the great underrated ladies of daytime. Vivian and Ivan never failed to make me laugh.

I can't wait for Viv to return. I wasn't watching DAYS when she was on, so I've always read about her and I've always been fascinated. To finally see Louise S. in action....aaaah!!! I'm ready for it. I haven't watched DAYS regularly in almost 5 years, but I'm getting ready to start again. Ditching Belle, Shawn-D, John, and Marlena was the shot in the arm that this show needed, IMO. Instead of being slaves to this gargantuan "supercouples" that dominate airtime, the show can actually be a legitimate ensemble again.

The picture below is what made me so interested in Vivian's character. It's her mugshot from when she was arrested for burying Carly alive. How can the lady in this picture NOT be entertaining?
