A fan of many classic comedies, I Love Lucy being one of my favorites, I was wondering who owns the right to this show?
I've seen: I Love Lucy (comes on local station and now TV Land) We Love Lucy (comes as part of run on same local station) THe Lucy Show (first season shown as finale of run before repeating) But, what about this one? And, who else owns the right to The Lucy Show? How about Life With Lucy? Thanks. |

Viacom owns "The Lucy Show" (they bought out Paramount, which bought out Desilu), but they haven't "leased" the show to any national network since N@N several years ago. It's still airing here and there in local syndication. "Here's Lucy" is owned by Warner Bros., and its last national run was on PAX. I don't believe it's in local syndication anymore.

TV Guy,
Is there any chance if "The Lucy Show" can be leased to TV Land like in near future or next year around this time??? Btw, next year is the 40th anniversary of "The Lucy Show". |

There's always a chance, and who knows what goes on in the minds of those programming gurus at TV Land? I would guess, though, that there's a greater chance of seeing "The Lucy Show" on TVL than "Here's Lucy". TLS is owned by Viacom, the parent company of TVL.

Why does this show seem to be forgotten ??
I'm new to these boards and the last time I saw this show was in 1985 on a local station that had a ton of good old sitcoms before it became a FOX affiliate. I didn't have PAX when HL made its short run there. I don't understand why it is not on home video. I would love to see this again as personally I thought it wass Lucille's best series becuase I like the generation gap style and the late 1960's era of tv. There were also alot of guest stars on this series. I remember a few episodes very clearly like: Lucy fixing a lamp in Harry's house, Lucy in a pickle costume, Lucy in the studio with Petula Clark, Lucy staying at Jack Benny's house and Jackie Gleason being there briefly, Lucy helping her daughter at a soda fountain or ice cream shop, and one where they strike gold. I don't know the epiosde titles but these are the ones I remember most. Does anyone ever trade or sell copies of this show. I've ran into some people on the game show boards who through a fit when you offer them money, they won't accept it. Trades only they say. Well, that's fine if you have what they want I guess. Anyway, I have sent a letter to TVLand asking thmem to get the rights to this show, but that is probably about as effective as smoke on the wind. Thanks, Chad |

I agree with the previous person. I love Lucille Ball and "I Love Lucy" but to be quite honest, I am "I Love Lucy"'d out! That show has been on ten times a day for years now. I haven't seen "The Lucy Show" in over a decade and "Here's Lucy" in probably twenty years. For some reason, there seems to be some sort of political push for "I Love Lucy". Perhaps because it was the first Lucille Ball show. I don't know, honestly, I think "The Lucy Show" was Ball's "finest hour". But I would love to see "The Lucy Show". Whatever I could do to get "The Lucy Show" or "Here's Lucy" on the air again, I would do.
