That you were friends with?? I have a few casual friends in my life, and alot of them people would look at, and think it's odd that I'm friends with them. My best real life friend is a guy who served four years in Vietnam, and we're so close that he considers me to be his second son. I love the guy, and believe it or not, we have tons in common. I also have a friend who is homeless, and who I met when he came to my door asking for empty pop and beer cans. He's a bruised and battered old guy, but he has a big heart, and is harmless. He's not too intelligent, but I love the guy all the same. I also have many middle aged women who are my friends. Infact, my two best friends happen to be middle aged women, but I have more in common with them then just about anybody. I have several other friendships that many might find peculiar, but those are some of my main ones. Do you have many friends that would shock people if they found out you were friends with them?? Please explain.

My offline friends would be shocked to know I have close online friends. I don't talk about it to them because they're not the type to do the internet message board thing and doubt they'd understand how I could be so close to people I've never literally met.

Most of my friends are people that my husband and I have met through various businesses that we use. It's nice to go into a business or store and have someone ask how you've been, and know that they aren't trying to use it as a sales pitch. Andrea |

I don't think there is any particular person who any of my other friends would be shocked that I am friends with. There have been some notable age differences between me and some of my friends, due to there being several mature students on my course at university. So me being friends with people in their mid-forties might surprise some people I know, but that's about the only thing.
I suppose there are a few people I am friends with that other friends of mine might not necessarily expect me to be friends with, but no one that they would really be *shocked* about. I'm quite a shy person offline and kept to myself a lot during my school years - I came out of my shell a lot more at university, so some of my schoolfriends might be surprised that I was friends with certain people at uni, that they may not have expected me to talk to, or just wouldn't have thought would have been in my "circle", so to speak. |

Would any of my friends be SHOCKED on who or whom, I consider to befriend. I would care less. I love both my online and my offline friends equally. It does not matter, that there are some people, whom I love dearly, but I never had the pleasure of meeting, face to face. To me, a friend is someone, whom I have a connection with, it does not matter, if they live many miles away, or also the face that I never gave them a hug. If my offline friends think that is odd, that there are actually people, that I consider special to me, from the internet; that is their problem, and not mine...

I made a few friends in college that my friends from my high school and home town would be shocked that I'm friends with.

Good for you, being such an awesome person, Brad. I am sure, Terry, cannot help that he is homeless; but we as Americans, should look beyond that, and remember, this is someone who was fighting for our country. Next time you see this special friend of yours, give him a hug for me.

And I will definitely give my buddy a hug for you, and I'll be sure to let him know that it's from a beautiful lady, with a huge heart. He's been kind of down lately, and so I know this will definitely make his day!! Thank you my friend!!!
