Release Dates For "The Wolfman", "The Fourth Kind", and "Repo Men"
Universal Makes Major Release Slate Changes, Poor Wolfman
Tuesday, July 28, 2009 By: MrDisgusting We've been hearing this rumor (among other very disheartening ones) that Universal Pictures was getting set to bump their release of The Wolfman once again. Today the news came in that Uni will now be releasing the film on February 12, 2010. In addition, the studio will be filling that November 6, 2009 slot with the Milla Jovovich starrer The Fourth Kind. Lastly, "Repossession Mambo" has been renamed to Repo Men and has been bumped all the way to a winter 2010 date (yikes). http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/16902 |

Wolfman Rumors Running Rampant
Source: Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor July 29, 2009 Readers and friends of this site know I'm Universal classic monster junkie. And, needless to say, I've been following The Wolfman redo pretty closely so it broke my heart just a little bit more when Universal announced yesterday that the film was being pushed to a February 12, 2010 release. In yesterday's news item, I speculated that recent additional shooting has affected the film. Well, this morning I woke up to a few e-mails from insiders informing me of a few details that should be taken as rumor for right now until I dig further. I will say, however, these embellish on other things I've heard. One tipster says Universal has sunk nearly $10-30 million into re-shoots in England. Much of the scenes had to do with the full Wolfman makeup because it wasn't "working out" and "was too much like the original" Chaney makeup. Another writer tells me Rick Baker was brought back in to direct practical transformation work because the CGI, again, wasn't working. Honestly, I'm hoping the reason for the delay is the latter and I can get a statement from the studio and/or filmmakers. http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...s.php?id=11230 Universal Comments on Wolfman Move Source: Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor July 29, 2009 Our second and, probably last, update today regarding The Wolfman. I'll start with the good stuff. You're going to see a trailer sooner than later. Attached to Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds on August 21st, in fact. I've spoken to my reps at Universal and have been informed the release shift had much to do with box office potential. In its November 6th slot, the Joe Johnston film would have been going up against Disney's A Christmas Carol, whereas in February it faces little competition (although The Cabin in the Woods opens one week earlier). Futhermore, from a marketing standpoint, Universal wanted to ensure all of the FX were complete so they could use them in the ad campaign. There you have it. We've got something to look forward to next month! http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...s.php?id=11234 |

Full Synopsis for Universal's The 4th Kind
Monday, August 3, 2009 By: MrDisgusting After having her baby, Milla Jovovich has returned to our genre in a big way. This Friday she stars in Rogue Pictures' A Perfect Getaway, she broke the news to Bloody-Disgusting that he'll be starring once again as Alice in Resident Evil: Afterlife, and now you can catch her on the big screen November 6th as she toplines alongside Elias Koteas, Will Patton and Hakeem Kae Kazim in Olatunde Osunsanmi's The 4th Kind. Read on for the full synopsis that was just sent our way from Universal Pictures. 1n 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now. Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered. Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented. Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film. http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/16954 |
