Crazy Cyrus to play Batgirl in 'Dark Knight' sequel?

Tuesday, July 28 2009, 15:18 BST

By Tim Parks, Entertainment Reporter

Miley Cyrus has reportedly auditioned for the role of Batgirl in the proposed Dark Knight sequel.

It is understood that the Hannah Montana star donned a batsuit and prepared her own dialogue for Warner Brothers executives, who are said to have been "stunned" by her performance.

"She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself," an insider told The Globe. "The problem is, some people aren't really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it off."

Gary Oldman is believed to have confirmed that the latest instalment of the Batman franchise will begin filming next year, while director Christopher Nolan may be on board for the third outing.

The part of Batgirl was played by Yvonne Craig on the 1960s US TV series, while Alicia Silverstone portrayed the caped heroine for 1997 film Batman & Robin.

Director Christopher Nolan has said that Robin will not appear in any of his Batman films, so I doubt we'll be seeing Batgirl Montana in the next film.

I would like to keep the Dark loner Batman we've seen in the previous Nolan films. I don't want this series to go downhill like the previous one.

yep, I can honestly believe the producers were "stunned".

i wouldn't even be surpirsed if some of them peed their pants from laughing so hard.

Probably not, but she'd probably look cute in the outfit.

Oh wait, I'm sorry. Scratch that. I can't say anything like that for a couple of years or so.

I bet they were "stunned" alright.

And she even came with some of her own written dialogue? WHAT!?!?

Maybe Warner is thinking of giving Batgirl her own movie with the same dark theme.

And nothing symbolizes dark like Miley Cyrus.

I hope Warners learned their lesson from the Godawful Catwoman movie and doesn't do any more Bat-related spinoffs.

It could work if the movie is like Birds Of Prey but, they wear the right costumes and have the familiar villiains.

besides the controversies in the past miley has been in, i think she is too young for the role. batgirl should be in her early 20s and miley is still a young kid and so, i'd say no she shouldn't get the role.
