Movie Corey Feldman Says A Sequel to "The Goonies" is Possible

Corey Feldman, talking to The Los Angeles Times this weekend, says – perhaps for the first time – that a sequel is not “entirely out of the picture”.

I know. It isn’t much… but, ya see, it is; Feldman’s sworn black-and-blue that Warrner would never do a sequel, yet, he now thinks there ‘’might’’ be a chance. I don’t know how big a chance – we haven’t talked for a week or two – but still, if he says a possibility now lies there, I’m betting he’s heard something…something to potentially put a smile on Sloth fans the world over.

If a sequel does happen, I’d attribute its existence to… well, a lot of things… but also Feldman. Feldman helped give Warner Premiere one of their highest-grossing DVDs of the year with “Lost Boys : The Tribe”. He’s already been enlisted to star in, and produce, a third “Lost Boys” flick – which, last I heard, is moving rather speedily towards the start line. In other words, Feldman is on the road to a comeback. (I also recently worked on a film with the lovely Kerri Green - who, and I know it sounds like a wank because I produced her film, is also primed for a comeback; she's still 'got it'!).

OMG, I LOVE the Goonies! Such a great movie! It's funny to watch it and see Josh Brolin, since he's been in so many movies lately! He was so cute back then!!! Went from playing a Goonie to playing the President! Now that's impressive!

It could be interesting, especially if all the original cast will return.

"Goonies" was filmed in Astoria, Oregon which is an AWESOME little town. Tons of movies have been filmed there, actually:
Kindergarten Cop
Short Circuit
Free Willy (parts of it)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (I haven't seen this one)
Come See The Paradise (haven't ever heard of this, but may have to check it out!)

About a year ago, they had a 20th anniversary thing about the Goonies in Astoria and I was just sick that I couldn't go! The guy who played "Chunk" (the chubby kid) was there and did a presentation on being in the movie, I think. Man, I would have loved that! I think I already had plans to go out of town or something, but that would have been a blast 1/2 (to use a term from my high school days!)

I found this cool website that talks about the movies filmed in Astoria and about some of the landmarks that were used. http://www.el.com/to/astoria/lights/. I've seen the elementary school in Kindergarten Cop and the Goonie house.

Anyway, sorry to get there, but I just LOVE Astoria!

So about the sequel, if there is one. I don't know, it would be nice if they had the original cast back, but it really wouldn't be the same. I mean, I can't even imagine what kind of story they would do. In the first one, these kids go searching for a missing treasure, but I can't see adults doing that. Maybe I'm wrong though. If they did a sequel, I would hope they would film it in Astoria. I really want to get a copy of the original.

Since Hollywood is so crazy about remakes and there are so many young TV stars around thanks to Disney and Nickelodian, I am really shocked that The Goonies hasn't been remade yet.

I've been to the Goonie's locations in Astoria. Last summer I took my wife and daughter, when we went the "Walsh" house was closed off to visitors. I think they probably got tired of all the people going through the house (though maybe they set up appointments to go in)
You can buy a book in Astoria that has all of the locations(plus locations of other films made there)
