Man beaten to death in lot outside Phillies' park
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man who was attending a bachelor party at a bar next to the Philadelphia Phillies' ballpark has been beaten to death during a melee outside.
Police say a group from the bachelor party got into a fight with other patrons at a sports bar and restaurant in the Citizens Bank Park complex Saturday night. The trouble started during the closing innings of a game between the Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals. The groups were told to leave McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, and the dispute moved outside to a parking lot. Police say 22-year-old Lansdale resident David Sale was assaulted there and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The World Series champion Phillies say they won't comment until arrests are announced |

I seen this, it's sooo unfortunate, and dumb at that. 2 of the 3 guys held the guy while the other beat the guy to a bloody unconsciousness, then he was pronounced dead shortly after. It was over A DRINK. A beer at that. Somebody accidentally bumped into another person and spilled their beer over the person, outside of CBP, for this guy's bachelor party. It was an accident, OVER A DRINK. This is how bad Philly gets, with stupid **** like this. Makes us look bad too, when it didn't have to be in the news. They could of apologized, or the person could of seen it was an accident, and moved on, and forgot about it. Ridiculous. I send my prayors to the man's family and friends though-
RIP.

It drives me nuts when an incident like this turns out to be for a really stupid reason. And the worst part is it cost this unfortunate young man his life. My sympathies to his family.

That is absolutely HORRIBLE! Imagine what the honoree at the bachelor party must be feeling, not to mention the other party attendees and the victim's families. I don't understand why the Phillies were mentioned. I'm not a Phillies fan, but I don't think they should be held responsible, even if the bar is next to the stadium. The bar owner and the KILLERS should be the ones who are at fault.
When my little brother (he's 31) was in junior high, there was a horrible incident involving some people at my high school. I had graduated several years before (thank God) but it scared me to death in light of my brother starting school there the next year. This guy was driving home from a football game and somehow he started following (or was inticed into following) this car, thinking they were friends of his. They drove to this house (of an unknown person) and the guy got out of the car. When he did, the people in the first car grabbed him and shot him for no apparant reason. Just made me sick. |
