My full name is Stephanie Michelle and I go by Michelle - my parents have called me Michelle since day one. I like the name "Michelle" - I think it suits me and I like the soft sound of the "ch" in the middle.

I like the name Stephanie but I would never want friends or family to address me by that name, which they wouldn't do anyway. Since I was always called Michelle since the day I was born, it wouldn't feel right, even though it's my first name.

You know I do like my name. I like that it is not too terribly common. Besides after over 44 years I'm rather used to it!

I do like my name. It's not very popular, and I've known very few Janices in my life; lots of Janets though. It surprises me because I think Janice is a pretty name.

I've always loved the name Sarah, it means princess, and it's really special that your mom gave it to you

I love my first name, but hate my middle name. My name is Lauren Ashley, but I'm not a big fan of the name Ashley. I like it when it's spelled differently, like Ashlee for example

but I think mine is boring. I love Lauren though, I think it's more unique. I've only known a few Lauren's in my life.

In a way I don't like my name but in another way I like it. My name gets misprounced a lot but it's not a common name and I sort of like that.

Michelle is also my cousins name. She is such a cool person and I love her laugh. I knew another Michelle in High School and she was a cool person too.

As far as my name, I do like it. I think it fits me perfectly and I could not see being named anything else.

I like my name, but I hate the fact that people are always mispronouncing it. I answer the phone all day at work and I swear it never fails... at least once during the day, I'll answer with my name (obviously using the correct pronunciation!) and the person on the other end will repeat it WRONG! Irritates the holy crap out of me. I know it's stupid, but it seriously does. Sometimes I will hesitate before addressing someone by name, for fear of pronouncing it wrong. I've had to deal with the mispronunciation of my name my whole life. My husband has even done it! And he has NO excuse!!

Andrea (that's "ONdreeah" in case you were wondering!

Yeah, it's grown on me. When I was a kid I thought it was old fashioned because I went to school with a bunch of Heathers and Melissas and Jessicas and such. No biggie now though.

But similar to Andrea, I get so sick of people misspelling it. NOT EVERY CATHY SPELLS THEIR NAME WITH A K.

It's Matlyn... and it's led me to a lifetime of misspellings and mispronunciations... which explains why, anyone who gets it right the first time gets a big hug from me.. seriously.

This story reminds of the "Full House" episode in which Stephanie wanted to change her name to "Dawn" just because she was getting sick of "Step On Me" type signs on her back put on by other kids.

I like my name I guess(Marlene) but for some odd reason almost everyone that I meet think that my name is either Marilyn or Maureen. Is my name so uncommon that nobody can remember it?

It' gets old correcting people ALL of the time!
