Default If Haven't Bought The Lucy Show DVD...Do It NOW!!!

I am so impressed with this set, I am speechless. I haven't seen The Lucy Show in years, and I am so impressed with the clarity of these shows on the DVD. CBS did a stellar job on this compilation. I have already watched the first ten episodes and all I can say is "WOW!" CBS out did themselves. We really need to call them and thank them for their efforts. This is such a must. If you don't have your copy of The Lucy Show first season, get it now!!!

I bought my copy last night. So far, I'm really enjoying the set. After a couple decades of watching I Love Lucy, it's so cool to see Lucy and Vivian together in a different show and have the same chemistry. I never paid much attention to this show when it was on Nick at Nite. I just saw it as Lucy's other show, and that was it. I'm glad it came on DVD and I'm able to fully appreciate it now.

I laughed out loud all through out the episode where Lucy and Viv are chaperones, for the girl's field trip.

The interviews were great too.

I agree, for Paramount, heck for any company, this is a wonderfully made set.

I bought mine Tuesday night at Target and have watched all the episodes on Disc One so far. Excellent prints and it is a great treat to see them with the vintage openings and sponsor commercial tags at the end. It has been a long wait but was well worth it. Hopefully Here's Lucy (coming August 25th) will be just as well done.

Got mine yesterday--a lesson in how a well made DVD set should be!!!!!!! Love it all--so glad they put in the effort they did.

(too bad Sony didn't make the same effort for Bewitched!)

A MUST FOR EVERY LUCY FAN!!!!!, July 28, 2009
By Michael Townsend (Baton Rouge, LA) - See all my reviews

This DVD Set is a MUST for every Lucy Fan!!!! If you love Lucy then trust me you have got to get this DVD set!!! I grew up with The Lucy Show and never did really get to see I Love Lucy til recently. Although, I am going to be purchasing the I Love Lucy Box Set. This is all those Black and White eposodes with Lucy, Viv, and Good Ole Charles Lane, the man whose face is known world wide, but nobody knows his name. There are no cuts or take outs like Nick At Nite or TV land. The FULL eposode is there for you to enjoy. Also, there are many extras and interviews that make this Set a MUST HAVE!!!! The only problem that I found with the Set was that I couldn't locate the interview with Jimmy Garrett that is suppose to be on Disc 4. Were any of You Guys able to find it on the Set? Good News, Good News, Good News!!!!!! Listen Up Lucy and Petticoat Junction Fans!!!!! I spoke with Mr. Ken Ross of CBS this morning and personally thanked him for CBS releasing the First Season of The Lucy Show and the Second Season of Petticoat Junction and he told me that the Second Season of The Lucy Show and The Third Season of Petticoat Junction are in the making and on the way!!!! Thank you, Thank You, Thank You CBS!!!!! One of my favorite eposodes is Lucy The Soda Jerk. I haven't seen it in years, but trust me it is Hilarious!!!! Purchase this set and you will have many fun filled hours enjoying Lucy which brings back many childhood memories!!!!-Michael

I know what your problem is with finding Jimmy Garrett. I was confused at first also. Look for a "yellow arrow" on the Special Footage menu, and it takes you to a second page.

And thankyou for the info on TLS and PJ seasons!! I'm thrilled to know that!

And YES!! This IS a must for Lucy fans!

I don't recall seeing 3/4's of these episodes. And the others I haven't seen in years! I Love Lucy and the later seasons of LS were seen much more in syndication than this season. So this is all new to me, I love it!
