How many Facts Of Life references can you spot on Family Guy?
I can spot several: When the Griffins acquire super powers from a toxic waste spill, Peter, as a Tyrannosaurus Rex, orders the Quahog town council to build a statue commemorating the scene from the episode where Blair confronts Mrs. Garrett that her poem is a plagiarism of Emily Dickinson; The episode where Lois tries to become a sex ed teacher, where the family is watching an episode with Natalie, Blair, and Cousin Geri. Blair's cousin bombs with a joke about Blair buying a purse for each day of the week; Jo shocks Mrs. Garrett with questions about being a hermaphrodite--Jo wonders why she has both certain anatomical features of both a man and a woman, and Mrs. Garrett is appalled! "WHAT??!!!" ![]() And there are plenty more!! Love that twisted humor on Family Guy!!!

I do not remember an episode where there was a joke about Blair having a purse for each day of the week. I am very surprised at myself for this! That is because I am crazy about purses! Ever since I was twelve years old, I have thought of them as something that make a girl's attire different than mine and attractive to me. I thought that Blair had an excellent collection of purses! I also thought that Natelie was not far behind blair in the purse department! Can someone please refresh my memory about what the episode was like? Is is up on "Youtube"?

The Family Guy episode was about when Lois decided to become a sex ed teacher for their kids' high school, to stop the spread of misinformation. Unfortunately, the school board decided that many parents didn't like the sex ed class and wanted to promote a religiously-based abstinence-only "sex ed" class which promoted fear and further ignorance. Lois was fired from the position and refused entry on the school. She tried to plan some way to get back into the school and get her job back. Somewhere on the way, Peter makes a comparison about something or other with "Cousin Geri making an attempt at comedy", and the scene has a flashback to some Facts episode
(in animated form, with Mindy Cohn providing vocals) where Natalie makes a comment to Blair about her collection of purses, and Geri makes her reply. In the credits Mindy Cohn's name appears, which makes sense because she has also played the voice of Velma on a new version of "Scooby Doo". She's no stranger to cartoon voiceovers. The voice of Blair and Geri is someone else than Lisa and Geri Jewell. |

One thing that I would be very interested in knowing is the name of the "Facts of Life" episode that this was based on! This way I could check to see if it is up on "Youtube" or any site like that.

It seems like the whole Family Guy episode was based on the first season episode of Facts where Mrs. Garrett taught a sex ed class. |
