No. He should at least get a year's suspension from the NFL and I wouldn't be upset if he was banned for life. I get tired of hearing the talking heads say that he made a mistake and paid his debt to society. Killing dogs is not a mistake. And just because he paid his debt doesn't mean he should be put back into the NFL. I'd have a hard time rooting for him remembering what he did. If he ever became a member of the Cowboys, I'd boo him every time he got the ball. I do think he'll be reinstated though.

You know something, I always been a Michael Vick fan. He was a great athlethe. This dog fighting thing, yeah, it was a crime, but it was also non-football related. He did his time, paid the price, and I think he deserves another chance.

AMEN!! I vote for a lifetime ban, too. If that doesn't happen, I hope the Browns aren't stupid enough to sign him. Sadly, I think they are.

His crime was non-related to football, but the NFL holds a high standard, and Vick per say represents the NFL. He has alot of kids that lookup to him... what kind of example does he set? I hope Goodell makes an example out of Vick and doesn't reinstate him.

I say f**K no. What he did is sick and no way should he be allowed to come back and make millions. I have no sympathy for this man.

No, he shouldn't be reinstated. But we all know he will.

That being said, the NFL does have a low standard as to punishing players though.

The one guy who killed a woman while driving drunk during the Super Bowl weekend in '99, Ray Lewis, Marshall guy from the Broncos, and few other players I can't think of.

I've said this in a political thread and I'll say it here..

We seem to be a forgiving or a give the guy a second chance society.

We seem to give celebrities more second chances though. If nobody thought Vick couldn't help an NFL team, nobody would care. I used to be a big Vick fan but no more. I don't even think he's that great of a QB. He's a good athlete but he continues to flop as QB. I think he's going to be more problem then he's worth to any team that gives him a chance.

While what he did is reprehensible, I do think he paid the price for his crime. The thing that makes this country so great is allowing people a second chance in life.

Just think of all the bad PR any team that signs him will get.

Absolutely not. He should have thought about the consequences before he did something so stupid and horrible. A lot of those dogs had to be put to sleep because they were so messed up afterwards. If it had been a person that he killed, I wonder if he'd even be considered for reinstatement. I just hope the Seahawks new coach isn't stupid enough to take him, if in fact he is reinstated. The Cowboys or ANY team for that matter.
Monika, that's exactly right that any team he goes to will get bad PR and they'll be constantly criticized for why they chose to take him.

Didn't Pete Rose get himself banned from baseball for some tax thing or something like that? That's government related, but this is murder; what Michael Vick has done. Far FAR worse in my book.

Yes. Everybody makes mistakes, and I can name a bunch of NFL issues that teams or players, where they have done something wrong and haven't gotten suspended or anything of that matter. I think he deserves a second chance.

Plus, the dog fighting is a big culture event in the South. It's not like Michael Vick is the only guy in America that was doing this. It's only because his life is put on a pedistool because he is an athlete & a celebrity. Their is also pit fighting, or **** fighting over in PR. Yes he should be reinstated. Goodell is an idiot though, so who knows if he'll get reinstated ever again.
