NBC Tuning Out 'The Listener', 'Law & Order' Repeats to Air Thursdays at 10pm - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

"The Listener" will no longer be heard from on NBC after this month.
Peacock said Wednesday that the drama will leave the air to make way for "Law and Order" repeats, which will take over the Thursday 10 p.m. slot starting July 30.

Five episodes will remain in the can; "Listener" was originally scheduled to keep airing through August. But it hasn't been much of a ratings performer for the Peacock; last Thursday's episode posted just a 0.7 rating and 2 share among adults 18-49.

"Listener" is one of several international co-productions hitting the network airwaves this summer. Show comes from Shaftesbury Films and Canada broadcaster CTV, and is produced along with the Peacock and Fox Intl. Channels. ShineReveille distributes the show internationally.

"Listener" stars Craig Olejnik as a paramedic who also happens to be telepathic.

Also at NBC, the net confirmed that hospital drama "Mercy" will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. in the fall, starting Sept. 23.

That's the slot being vacated by "Parenthood," which was pushed to midseason in order to give star Maura Tierney time to deal with health issues.

Peacock had been mulling a potential schedule switcheroo in light of the "Parenthood" news, but ultimately decided to simply slide "Mercy," originally set for midseason, into the same spot.

L&O should really be its OWN network. With all the different L&O shows, there should only be about 195,867,395,769 episodes to go around.
