Question How do you feel about gender-neutral bathrooms?

Personally, I would feel very uncomfortable using one, unless it's a single stall. I think if you have male equipment, then you should use the men's room.

At my workplace, the staff bathrooms are designated for men and women, but seeing as there are only two men and about 30 women, we ladies use the men's rooms.

I don't like the idea of them, they should keep them separate. In Target they have the gender neautral bathrooms and I still use the men's room.

I wouldn't feel uncomfortable using a general neutral stall, but hey maybe that's just me.

I would feel really weird about it, and would worry about the safety of the women. There are some creepy guys out there, and I think sharing bathroom's could lead to some scary situations.

The bathrooms in our homes are gender neutral. I don't have a problem with them at work, the movie theater, etc. As long as long as it's a one-person at a time bathroom, I don't have a problem with it.

I didn't think of that. I have gone into Starbucks and they do have a gender neutral bathroom.

So I guess as long as it's that, I don't have a problem with it.

Exactly. As long as like, men and women aren't in there TOGETHER I'm cool with it.

I agree with you on that. A few years back when I worked at a grocery store the manager said that the reason many businesses will never have gender neutral bathrooms is because of safety issues and concerns with sex crimes.

I never thought of the safety issue of gender-neutral bathrooms. If a place has only one bathroom or there is no designation, then it really doesn't bother me. I'd just make sure that there is no one in there first.

I went to a gym several years ago, and I discovered that one of their restroom/changing rooms were neutral, only about a minute after I got in there. The moment I noticed a woman in there changing, I got red-faced out of embarrassment and ran right out of there stopping to look at the door to make sure I didn't go into the wrong room. The people at the front desk tried to assure me that they were secure and that nothing would happen, but it didn't assure me. I am definitely not in favor of gender neutral restrooms. They should always be separate.

Here in NYC lots of bars and restaurants are so tiny that the only have space for one bathroom, so you either share or you're out of luck.

I don't mind too much if they're singles (That's what we have at work.) but if there are multiple stalls, showers, or changing rooms, then they should be separated by gender.
