"Substitute Teacher" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

This is one of my favorite episodes of "DS". I can so relate to being around Arnold's age in that episode and being sick of getting so much homework and not having any time to myself to play and stuff. Then hearing my teacher telling us we were having a sub the rest of the week and getting excited, because this meant we get to goof off. Then the intended sub calls in sick and instead some overly conscientious sub fills in and piles on even more homework. In my case, we were supposed to get this somewhat flaky, senile old lady who could barely hear, or see, and whenever we'd have her, we had longer recesses and periods of just doing what we wanted. But the sub we had instead was named Mrs. Campbell and she was STRICT!! The "hitting" thing never happened, thank God, but we did try to put one over on her by placing the can of worms on her desk and stuff. Truly a classic episode. I can totally relate to the kids being annoyed with their sub in that episode. It's on YouTube somewhere, but I dare not say anymore, in case Sony might be monitoring things around here.

i wonder if any basketball fans noticed the irony that kareem abdul jabbar was nemed mr. wilkes in the ep and one of his teamates on the la lakers at that time was named jammal wilkes
