Perfect Strangers' neighbor Susan - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've been watching the episodes that I taped when the show was on ION.. I'd kinda forgotten about the neighbor Susan because she was phased out in season two.. But I like this character.

As much as I enjoy Jennifer and MaryAnn, I wonder why Susan wasn't kept around for one of the cousins..

Any thoughts??

I liked Susan too, but I guess she would've been a third wheel with Jennifer and Mary Anne established as the girlfriends (and later wives). That's why she was phased out.

Yes, you make a good point about Susan being the third wheel after Jennifer and MaryAnn came onboard. However, why wasn't Susan matched up with Larry (or Balki) and just one other gal introduced??

Did the producers decide there wasn't enough chemistry?? Just wondering as I watch season one ....

I don't really know - but Jennifer and Mary Anne were perfect for the guys. It's hard to imagine them paired up with anyone else.

I'm just watching season 1 and 2 on DVD now. I've been wondering about this same thing. Lise Cutter is a beautiful woman and she seemed to have good chemistry with the boys. But the producers decided to bring in the big haired blondes who are basically female versions of Larry and Balki. It's like the boys are dating themselves! The more I see of Jennifer and Mary Ann the more I see Larry and Balki's trait s in them. It's actually a little wierd!

To be fair, Lise Cutter really wasn't given a chance to do much of anything. But I still can't picture the boys with anyone else but Jennifer and Mary Anne.

Looking back now she looks better then Jennifer or Maryann but one had to be dum like Maryann.
