Default I am ONE HAPPY DUDE!!!!

My favorite cousin, who happens to be as big a classic TV buff as I am (maybe bigger considering he grew up in the '80s) came to visit me and brought with him a ton of DVD's and videos where he recorded all of my alltime favorite "Facts of Life" episodes from every single season. I've been keeping in touch with him and told him I recently discovered this gem of a show and he told me he had all the videos and DVD's, so he made copies from his DVD's and burned the VHS tapes onto DVD's and gave me a whole box full of these great episodes when he stopped by to visit! GOD BLESS MY FAVORITE COUSIN!!!!! So, now, I no longer have to bellyache, or wimper, to anyone about wanting to see this show!! I am SO HAPPY!!!!! He's now working on "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Family Ties". BTW, he feels the same way I do about the shows on TV today and the last decade like "SWINEfeld", "Friends", "Frasier", "90210" and everything on TV today....that it's all CRAP!!!! And that the '80s was the best decade for TV.

That's good to hear. I'm glad that you have a cousin who is very much committed to classic television, such as "The Facts of Life" was. I also agree that the '90's series (and those of today) that you listed were all "ick!"

Even YouTube is featuring their "classic TV shows" in full episode form...and what do they offer us? "Beverly Hills, 90210", old episodes of "CSI" and "Law & Order" and all the old shows from the '50s. No offense. But none of the classics from the '70s and '80s. However, I'm not complaining, because now I have all the episodes of "FOL" that I love so dearly! And I think all the girls on "FOL" are better role models and alot more attractive than the skinny-minny superficial phonies on "90210" and "Friends". Give me Lisa Whelchel and Nancy McKeon over Jennifer Aniston, Tori Spelling, Shannen Dougherty and Jennie Garth anyday!!

Do you know how your cousin burned the episodes from his VHS onto DVDs? I have tons of FOL and The Division episodes on VHS, but I would love to transfer them onto DVDs. If anyone else knows how, please feel free to PM me and tell me!

Unless it's because you're happy about Facts of Life S4 finally coming to DVD, who cares? LOL!

It's not. Just that I saw the title of this thread saying that Brownie77's one happy dude, so I posted a comment saying that unless it's because he was the first to hear the news that season 4 is coming out, which was what I was hoping for, who cares? But I was only joking about the "who cares" part. LOL! Though, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed (but not surprised) that S4 news isn't what he was so happy about. Of course, I'm glad that he's happy with whatever he's happy about.

The first thing that I would like to do is thank you for taking the load off of my mind about season 4! Even though this is very disappointing news, I am happen to have things staight in my mind. Furthermore, we seem to have a degree of a communication gap about the happy dude business. You wrote to me as if I was the one who started this thread. I am not! I simply saw your comment about season four and decided to respond.

I didn't mean to act like you were the one who started this thread. I realize that you weren't now. I just got the screen names confused and forgot it was the other person who did start this thread. So I addressed to the wrong person by mistake, but I'm corrected it by editing it. And I do apologize for all the misunderstanding. So sorry about that communication gap.

Default No more "FOL" releases on DVD, it's official!

Sadly, as my friend states, Sony has oficially decided to pull the plug on any further "FOL" on DVD because they want to focus primarily on newer (crappier) shows. Anyway, my cousin had a bunch of old tapes lying around, dating all the way back to 1988 and even the reruns during the '90s. So, he was able to burn what he had onto DVD's. The only ones I don't have, unfortunately, are "Taking a Chance on Love", "Big Apple Blues" and "Till Marriage Do Us Part"...so, if anyone has those to post online anywhere (being that I have no idea how to convert VHS tapes into DVD's and I no longer have a regular VCR), I would really appreciate it.

BTW, sorry if I mislead anyone with the title to my thread, but there's no call to be so rude. I was just sharing my joy with everyone.

Sorry if I was rude, but I just thought it'd be different since I was just kidding about the "who cares" part. But I do apologize. No offense intended. Though, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed and frustrated (but not surprised) that S4 news isn't what you were so happy about. Of course, I'm glad that you're happy with whatever you're happy about and I do appreciate you sharing your joy with us. And I hope you accept my apology. Again, I'm so sorry I offended you and that I violated the rules against posting rude comments in forums. It was nothing personal.

Default Im working on my dvd's too

Hey,

I know how you feel, I am working on my DVD's too. I have a couple of episodes left of Season 8 and will be starting Season 9. It is a ton of work to transfer from VHS to DVD, damn.

I have the episodes from oh man, way back in the USA Network days - I now wish I would have recorded in SP mode for better quality -- but that would have taken up a whole closet of VHS tapes -- besides i was in school in those days and my parents would have not allowed me to do that.

I am so picky too, if you need the DVD cover art here's the attachment, I can not stand the stupid paper sleeves. It pisses me off. Now i have it aligned with all my other dvd's and looks great. Same with Gimme A Break.

I have higher qualities in bmp files it wouldn't let me upload here.
