Post Autism

Doe sany of you know anything about autism syndrome? Or is it anyone here who is autistic?

To let you know, I have the autism syndrome, I mostly tell it when I'vve been on a forum for a while, so people don't see me like some weirdo.

Ok, I am a little weird, haha. Just to let you know, if I post a strange post or something.

I have a really great memory, I remember most of the things I hear. Mostly numbers. ^^

I've worked with a few children who were diagnosed with Aspergers. I really do enjoy them. One girl I worked with 1:1 for two years. When she first came to our classroom, she wouldn't look anyone in the eye and spoke in a whisper. I encouraged her to come out of her shell and she even got involed in school activities this year. She's going off to middle school in September and I'm really going to miss her I know I shouldn't play favorites, but she was my little sweetheart.

I know a few people with Autism and there are several members here who have it. You're NOT wierd and there's nothing wrong with having it. You just perceive the world a little differently from most people.

This world would be way too boring if we were all alike!

Are you good at dates or remembering phone numbers and stuff like that?

I had a friend in high school who had a stepbrother with autism. I remember the brother was able to communicate with people and he seemed to remember a lot of things. I lost contact with my friend when he entered the military.

I can also ammunicate very well. I'm glad you understand No one can see I'm autistic on the outside, since I look ver normal, but when people learn to know me they think I'm a little special, but they like me. I do have a disibility in my right arm and right leg, since birth. Nothing special really. I can walk, run, swim, be out cykling... There's nothing stopping me

I have a brother with autism. He's middle range and it's definatley a ride. You just take the bad with the good, and that's all I can say.

I actually have it!

My mind is as sharp as a tack, but it takes me a VERY long time to learn any of it.

Yes, I know that. I am 18, years old (Born 1990), I'm turning 19 in a few months so they noticed my autism about 4 years ago.

I have Persuasive Developmental Disorder (or PDD)...which is a very common. So that's why some things that 'normal' people learn...I learn slower, like driving.

I won't be able to drive at all. Well, not cars. It has not to do with learning slower, but I think it's hard to concentrate on a lot of things at the same time.
