Question Detoxifying your body

I've seen many commercials for products that claim to clean out all the stuff in your stomache. I don't want to gross anyone out, so I'm putting this as delicately as I can. According to these commercials, each person has tons of waste in their body, and the products in these commercials claim to clean out your systems. I've heard people say how much their health improved, and how you seem much lighter after doing this. My question to you is has anyone here ever tried any of these products, and how did they work for you??

I'm not sure what the names of the products are that cleans out your system. I haven't seen those kinds of commercials though.

Actually they were infomercials, and I will look up the names of some of the more popular detoxing programs and post them here. I think the idea of detoxing, and getting all the extra junk out of your system is a good idea. I've never tried any of these products myself, but have always wondered how they work, and which ones work the best.

Here's a picture of probably the most well know detoxifying system called Colonix. I've read reviews for different detoxing products that were way better though, but can't think of them at the moment.

I've had friends go on some of these fad detox diets and stuff and if anything, I feel it can be quite dangerous. I've also heard recently (I forget where - maybe Dr. Oz) but they really aren't necessary and if there's underlying medical issues can be downright dangerous.

Those ads make it like we're all walking around with our guts looking like the sewer system of NYC!!!

And don't ever buy those socks that are supposed to pull out the toxins from you - they're proved those are a hoax for sure.

Thanks alot for that information Cathie. I'll definitely steer clear of this kind of stuff and just stick with the Prilosic for my stomache problems.

Try some of those probiotic yogurts - they should help naturally. I also had troubles a few years back and picked up some great enzymes at GNC - their own Gold brand. You take one just before eating, and if it's a big meal, then one again during the meal. You'd be amazed at how well they help get you back regular and all.

Thanks again for some more great info. You're just full of good ideas this morning!!! Fortunately I have no problem going to the bathroom or anything, I just have severe stomache pain and nausea each day. Alot of it is side effects from the various meds I'm on. But I do appreciate your suggestions, and will definitely look into them. Thanks again my friend. I can always count on you to be there for me!!!

Yah, I do seem to be on a roll here eh?!

O.k. - for stomach upset from meds, you're going to need to EAT MORE!! And I already know you don't eat enough! Or burritos? No wonder you're tummy's upset you silly guy! It's a wonder you don't have a blue streak of flame emitting from your ass! I could use you as a BBQ lighter!! LOL

Do you like milk? If so, you should be drinking more of it to help coat your stomach even if you have to force yourself. Soda crackers are also good (help with the nausea too). I know my anti-depressants all say to take with food (even though I don't always, but mine don't seem to bother my stomach that much).

Yeah, most of these are hoaxes. You see all of those "diet pill" ads....how many are there, 200? I'd hate to see what they actually do to you. I think of many infomercial offers to be scams, that's why I don't bother even watching them.

Yeah. I think Water helps you clean out your system too. Well, maybe.

I have heard of this but I have no desire or need to do it. I eat healthy and try to keep a heallthy lifestlye as best as I can so that's all that matters to me.

I had a friend at one time ask me if I heard about "master cleansing" and I thought it was something to do with Nazis.

I know what you mean. I have a couple of friends who went on that stupid thing (you starve yourself and then drink some horrible concoction with cayenne pepper in it!!!) As if that's going to clean you out! Why not just use some liquid Draino?!!! Meanwhile, one of the guys who does this looks like something you'd find in a sewer! I'd hate to see what he'd look like if he didn't "cleanse"!!

Drink lots of water and maybe add lemon juice. It's a great way to detox.

Take a hot bath with Epsom salt.

Sweat releases toxins from your body.

I try to clean out my digestive system too. I use a product called "Super Cleanse" which helps get rid of toxins too. For me, I drink plenty of water and lots of water. I eat lots of "Activia" yogurts also.
