The Wedding

I figured I'd post what I started writing when I came up with the story Fate.

Part 1

Jo wakes up in the hotel room in Paris. Her and Blair came here for Monica's wedding to Charlie. Jo thinks I can't believe my pop is marrying Blair's mom in less than a week. They are two very different people and its hard to believe they fell in love. Pop came to visit me about a year ago and since I was very busy with school Natalie had suggested him and Monica go out to dinner since Blair was also busy. They spent everyday that week together and even though they denied having feelings at the time they continued seeing each other when they got back to the city. Here we are a year later and me and Blair are going to become sisters. I guess that's not so bad Jo thinks. Me and Blair may fight a lot but we practically are sisters anyway. We share the same room for the past five years. Even though most people that know us probably think we hate each other cause we fight a lot that's not true. Blair is a really good friend to me and I probably wouldn't have made it through a lot of things without her. Even though I won't tell anyone this I'd have to say she's my best friend.

Blair is laying in bed thinking about the wedding and all the things they have to do to get ready. I can't wait to go shopping for the dresses Blair thinks. I can't believe me I'm gonna be maid of honor and Jo's gonna be a bridesmaid. This is so weird having Jo's father marry my mother. I could never imagine Mother falling in love with someone that doesn't have money. Jo's father is a good man though even if he did have some problems. Its gonna be funny to think of Jo as a sister but it won't be bad. Nothings really going to change. We already share a room. I'm kind of happy at least this time I know what the daughter of Mother's future husband is like. Jo and I may have our differences but we've become close over the years. I would even have to say she's my best friend.

Oh Jo you are awake says Blair. Yes says Jo. Good says Blair we have a lot of shopping to do. Jo groans and says Don't remind me. Blair says I'm gonna go shower and get ready. Jo says Ok just don't use all the hot water. After about a half hour Blair comes out of the bathroom and Jo goes to take a shower. Two hours later Jo is still waiting for Blair to finish and she's starving. Jo says Hey Blair Hurry up I'd like to have breakfast sometime before dinnertime. Blair says I'm almost done. You wouldn't know what it takes to look this good. Jo says I could have painted a house in the time its taking you to paint your face. Blair says Joke all you want but it would do you good to put more time into your appearance. Jo says Whatever just hurry up I'm starving. Finally Blair is ready and they go down to the hotel dining room and meet their parents. They order breakfast and talk about all the stores they have to go to that day.

sorry i didn't get much of it posted but i had a prob with my grandma and now i have to go to work. I'll try to get back to it later. Its not as long as most stuff i write.

Part 2

Jo and Blair try on lots of dresses and Jo thanks God Monica doesn't want those hiddeous taffeta dresses most people use in weddings. She wants a more simple wedding. She finally decides on pink dresses. Pink Jo thinks. I can't be seen in public in pink. Blair says to Jo as if she could read her mind. Don't worry Jo people know you don't pick your own dress for a wedding. I still don't like it says Jo. Charlie says You look beautiful Joanna. Thanks Pop Jo says. They go to a few more stores and then they have lunch in a little outdoor cafe. They do a little more shopping then go back to the hotel for awhile. Monica says they have to change for dinner. Jo doesn't understand why but she goes along with it.

Blair sees what Jo changed into and says Jo your not really going to wear jeans to a resteraunt are you? Jo says Why not. You just don't says Blair. Well I don't have anything else says Jo. Blair says You can wear one of my dresses and comes back with a short blue dress. Blair says Here put this on. Jo shrugs her shoulders thinking it could be worse and puts on the dress. Monica and Charlie come to see if they're ready and they go to the reseraunt.

They sit down and a waiter comes to take their order. Jo can't believe it. She recognizes the waiter. The waiter says Hi Jo. Its been a long time. Jo says Hi David. How are you? I can't believe this Jo thinks. I never thought I'd see him again. Its been three years since we came to Paris with Mrs. Garrett, Nat and Tootie. David says How long are you staying in Paris. Jo says One week. David says Can I see you while you're here? Jo says yes and tells him how to reach her. David says I will call you but now I gotta get back to work. Can I take your order? They all order and while they wait for the food Jo tells them all about how she met David. Blair says I remember you saying good-bye to him outside the airport. I saw you through the window. Yeah? asks Jo. Blair says I need to use the ladies room. Jo says I'll come with you. When they get in the ladies room Blair says What's on your mind? Jo says What do you mean? Blair says For one you just ran into a guy you once had feelings for and for two you never want to go to the ladies room with anyone else. Ok Blair You're right I wanna ask you what I should do. I thought I forgot him but the minute I saw him all the old feeling rushed back. I don't wanna hurt like I did last time I had to leave him so I'm not sure if I should see him or not. Blair says Just follow your heart cause its your head that tells you you'll get hurt besides you never know what can happen this time. You're not high school kids anymore. I guess you're right Blair. I'll see him. Ok says Blair now lets get back before they think we ran away like we did the last time we were in Paris.

They go back out and have their dinner. David comes back and talks to Jo from time to time while they're eating and says bye when they're leaving. They all go back to their hotel and Jo sits to think by herself after Blair leaves to meet a guy she met when they first got to Paris. I really don't wanna get hurt again. It took me a long time to get over him and forget him. Why did all the feelings come back? Did they ever really go away? I really think I'm in love with him no matter how crazy that sounds. I didn't spend much time with him but I feel like I know him forever. This is crazy. I guess the only thing I can do is go out with him and see what happens.

Blair goes for a walk with this guy named Pierre. He's gorgeous and his family is very rich but he's so boring. What do I do? I don't wanna be rude but I can't take this. Oh God now he's talking about his ex-girlfriend again. Doesn't he know you don't do that on a first date? How do I get out of this. He doesn't seem to want to end the night. I need a good excuse. This is the worst date I've ever had. I could of had more fun hanging out with Jo. I got it I'll tell him I'm tired and have to get up early. That works and he takes Blair back to her hotel. She rushes in without saying good-bye so he doesn't get a chance to try and kiss her.

Blair goes in the room and Jo asks Why are you back so early? Blair says It was the worst date I ever had and made an excuse so he would take me home. Jo says I'm sorry. I don't know how someone can be so boring and talk about their ex-girlfriend constantly. Jo says Wow that is bad. Jo says David called when he got off work and we're going to go to dinner tomorrow night. That's great says Blair. Yeah says Jo. I think we had plans for dinner but I'm sure our parents won't mind says Blair. They talk some. Jo tells Blair what her and David had done while they took their trip to Le Mans. Blair said it sounded very romantic. Finally they think they should go to sleep cause they got a lot to do the next day.

Part 3

The next evening Jo is getting ready for her date with David after a long day of shopping. Jo says to Blair I don't know why I gotta go shopping with all of you if it has nothing to do with me. Blair says I don't know either but Mother thinks its a good way for us all to bond. If she wants to bond with me she should go to a bike race with me. They both laugh at the though of Monica at a bike race. They here someone knock on the door and Jo answers it. Hi David she says. Hi Jo David says You look beautiful. Jo says Thanks. Jo says I'll see you later Blair and they leave. They talk about what has happened in their lives since they last saw each other as they go to the restaurant.

They get to the restaurant and order their food. David says Jo I really missed you. I never stopped thinking about you. Jo says I missed you too. They eat and talk. After they finish eating they decide to go for a walk. Jo says I still can't get over how beautiful Paris is. I never really got to see it last time. David says Yeah I know you were too busy hitch hiking to Le Mans. They laugh. I had a great time with you those two days says Jo. Me too says David. I still haven't forgotten the look on your face when I told you that you were drinking goat's milk. Jo laughs and says Yeah well we don't drink that back home. David says I'm really having a great time with you Jo. Yeah says Jo. I just wish I didn't have to leave in a few days. David says Don't think about that now. Let's just enjoy the time we have together. Then he kisses Jo. Jo thinks this feels so right. I belong with him. After they kiss for a while Jo says Its getting late I should get back. David says Ok and walks her back to the hotel. He kisses her again and says Good-night.She says Good-night and goes inside.

Blair went to dinner with her mother and Charlie. Her mother had invited the son of one of her friends to dinner to meet Blair. Blair thinks I wish Mother would have told me she was going to set me up with someone. What if things had gone well with Pierre and I had invited him. Blair tries to be nice to John for her mother's sake and realizes she likes him. They have a lot in common like they both paint and love art. They go to a cafe after dinner and talk. I go to Harvard John says. Blair says I go to Langly. He says Maybe when we get back home we can find a way to see each other. Blair says I'd like that. I'd love to see some of your paintings John says. I would love to see yours too Blair says. I really want to see you again John says. Call me tomorrow. You know where I'm staying. He says I will. John says I better get you back it getting late. They head back to the hotel, John kisses her good-night, and leaves. Blair goes up to her room.

Blair goes into the room and Jo says Dinner with your parents went pretty late. Blair says No Mother set me up with this guy John and we spent the night getting to know each other. Jo says That's good. Blair says How did it go with David? Jo says It was great. I think I'm in love. Blair says That's wonderful. I'm happy for you. Thanks says Jo. The only problem is we live so far apart. Blair says If its meant to be you'll find a way past that. Jo says I hope your right. Don't worry says Blair. Jo says Ok. Tell me about John? Blair says well He lives in New York City, goes to Harvard, his family is rich, he loves art, and paints. Jo says Sounds like a match made in heaven. Blair says He's perfect. I guess you like him says Jo. Yes says Blair. They get ready and go to bed.

Part 4

The next few days Jo and Blair prepare for the wedding and spend all of their free time with David and John. They end up asking the guys to be their dates for the wedding ans the guys agree. Jo says to Blair as they're getting ready for the wedding I can't believe the week went so fast. Yeah I know says Blair. By this time tomorrow we'll be on our way home. Jo says I still don't know how to say good-bye to David. Blair says Don't worry about that now. They finish getting dressed and head to the lobby to meet their parents and get into the limo and go to the church for the wedding.

As the ceramony is taking place Jo imagine's herself getting married to David. She pictures herself in a wedding dress and David in a tux. They say I do. Jo thinks Am I crazy or something. I don't even really know David besides since when do I fantasize about getting married. She watches the rest of the wedding. I'm very happy for Pop Jo thinks. I guess I grew up since I'm not still wishing him and Ma would get back together.

Blair is thinking. I can't wait to get married. I hope maybe John will be the right one for me cause he seems perfect. I guess I got plenty of time to find out. He'll be back in the city in a couple more weeks and we can get together and see what happens. I hope things somehow work for Jo with David. I've never seen Jo so happy. David is a great guy. At least Mother is finally happy again. I hope this time it lasts for her.

The ceremony ends and they all go to the reception. Jo gives in and dances with David after telling him she doesn't dance. They all dance and eat and have a lot of fun. Charlie and Monica seem so happy. It make Jo a little sad cause Ma is all alone. She hasn't dated anyone that I know of since the divorce. She works too hard and probably doesn't have time. Its still strange thinking of my pop with Blair's mother. It must defy some law of nature but I guess they're happy.

Part of me is happy that I'm going home tomorrow but part of me is sad. I'm gonna miss David a lot. I can't believe I love him and I have to leave him again. I knew I shouldn't have gotten involved with him when I knew I had to leave but I did so now I'm gonna be heartbroken all over again. Why is it I came to Paris twice and both times I met the same guy? Is it a coincidence? Whatever it is, its crazy. Well I guess I better go to sleep I got a long flight ahead of me tomorrow not to mention I have to say good-bye to David.

I can't wait to get home Blair thinks. I have a lot of dates this week and I have quite a few to cancel for upcoming weeks. I can't be dating these other guys if I'm with John now. Well I'm not with him yet but I know I will be when he gets back home. I gotta go shopping cause I'm going to need new outfits for the fall. I bought a few things here but there not really for the everyday. There's just so much to do before school starts and less then a month to do it. I guess I better go to sleep or I'll look awful for my flight tomorrow.

Part 5

Jo and Blair are packing to go home. Their parent left already to go to Italy for their honeymoon. The girls are gonna meet the guys for lunch and spend the afternoon with them before their flight leaves at five. Jo says to Blair What are you and John gonna do this afternoon? Blair says I'm not really sure. What do you and David have planned? Jo says We're gonna have a picnic in the place we went last time. That sounds nice says Blair. They finish packing and getting ready to meet the guys.

Blair I can't believe we live so close and I had to come thousands of miles to meet you says John. Blair laughs and says Yeah but I'm worth it jokingly. Yes you are John says. When I get back, I'll call you and come to see you in Peekskill. That'll be great Blair says. John says I really like you and I'm gonna miss you. Blair says I feel the same but its only a couple of weeks. He takes her back to her hotel and kisses her and says I guess I'll see you in a couple weeks. She says Yeah. He says Bye Blair and kisses her again. She says Bye and he leaves.

Jo and David set up their picnic on the grass by the same tree the cat had been stuck in three years ago. Jo says I hope you didn't bring goat cheese this time and laughs. David fakes a sad face and says But I thought you loved goat cheese. Then they both laugh. They eat and talk and have a great time. David says I guess I should take you back so you don't miss your plane. Jo looks sad and says I wish I didn't have to go. I know David says Me too. David says I love you Jo and I promise I will come to the states soon and be with you. Jo says Really? He says Yes. For now we can write and talk on the phone but I believe its fate that brought us together twice so randomly so I know I have to be with you. I know I'll be with you forever. Jo says I love you too David and I'm gonna miss you so much. I'll miss you too David says. I promise I'll figure it out as soon as I can and I'll come to you. They get back to the hotel and hug and kiss but neither wants to let go or leave. They just keep holding onto each other for a long time until David says I really better go or you'll miss your plane. Jo says I guess so and David sees she's crying. He says Jo Don't cry, this is not good-bye I will see you again soon. Jo says Ok and they hug and kiss once more then she goes into the hotel.

Jo There you are says Blair. You're late, I was just about to leave without you. I started thinking you were gonna stay here with David. I wish I could says Jo. They get all they're stuff together to leave for the airport all the while Jo tells Blair that David plans on coming to see her and maybe even live there. Blair says That's wonderful. Jo says Yeah If he actually does it. Well just wait and see and in the meantime try not to be too miserable. You could always come back here at some point if you want says Blair. Jo thinks I wonder if I really will ever see David again. Why did I let myself fall for him? I don't usually let people get that close and definately not so fast or easily. I really do love him and I guess Blair's right I gotta wait and see what happens.

I love how this is sort of a prequel to your other fic. It's nice to see how Jo and David end up together.

Actually I was originally writing about the wedding when I got the idea to have Jo meet David again. I started writing Fate cause I had so many ideas to continue with Jo and David

i cried through the whole thing
