Default Segment identification requests

greetings,

i'm currently in trade negotiations with someone on the trading post. he has been kind enough to list the segments he has available and descriptions for most of them, and I appreciate it. there are some that I was wondering if anyone has more details for. I have some guesses on some of them, but if you have any info or guesses yourself, i would appreciate it. thanks!

-Linda & David - couple meets by prayer; man recovers from serious accident
-jealous, violent man murders his wife's father (don't think this is Steve Wilson as he has that one listed already)
-1988 Virginia policeman's murder (John Martin?)
-SoCal woman abducted and murdered, possible sighting
-1977 woman kidnapped and killed by bother in law (Tim Berry?)
-1987 armed bank robbers with corny masks (Nixon?)
-Connecticut bank robbers escape prison
-multiple woman's mysterious deaths in Flordia (don't think this is Debra Poe as he has that one listed already)
-red mercury, bombing material

also, I couldn't find that these were discussed here on the forum, was wondering if anyone knows anything more about them.

-Marjorie Kim missing
-Oscar Norton
-Roberto Ramirez
-rape and attempted murder of young woman named "Laurie"

Whenever I see these kinds of threads I mentally prepare myself to type either "Angela Hammond" or "The Wackers" but this threw me for a loop, so I commend you, wiseguy. I had seen some of these on the list and wasn't sure either. I can, however, tell you this...

I know I have seen this episode on Lifetime. I don't recall when it originally aired or what stories it aired with. My recollections of the segment itself are also equally vague. I just remember this couple was so over the top religious that it was almost comical. I remember the woman saying something along the lines of "when I met David, I heard God's voice tell me that this was the man I was to marry".

that was my first guess. Looking at the stories it aired with, I think it might actually be Michael O'Mara.

Looking at the stories it aired with, I'm pretty sure it's Kimberly Pandelios.

Probably Patrick Michael Mitchell. Considering the segments he has listed with it (that aired during that time block) I would say I'm 99-100% sure this is the case.

I have some vague recollections of two guys running through a swampy area. Possibly assisted in the escape by a woman one of the men had a pen pal type relationship with ala John Yount and Diane Brodbeck.

Going by the stories listed with it, I would guess this is actually Little Miss Panosofkee (sp?)

This aired on NBC (not on CBS). I do remember it well. Red Mercury is supposedly a substance that reacts with certain chemicals to cause explosions of epic proportion. The segment debated it's existence - a sample of the actual substance has never been produced - and it's possible use by terrorists.

I remember this one - he was jogging and was hit by a car. Wasn't he in the army or something too?

Sounds like John Martin. (O'Mara was in Illinois.)

From TV.com
Episode #109 1/16/1991
The dragnet for professional bank robber Patrick Michael Mitchell. Mitchell known as one of the most skilled bank robbers in the United States. Reportedly, every time he robbed a bank, he would wear a comic mask.

Could this be it?

Episode #391 10/18/1996
The Investigators: Ben Sherwood, author of a book called "Red Mercury" seemed to predict the 1996 Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta. However, in his book the explosion was much bigger and caused by a substance called red mercury, which may or may not exist.

thanks for the info so far everyone, it is most helpful.

Ah, now I know which one the first one is, you're right Justin. The episode description on the First Look box set didn't say anything about Linda, the wife, so that's what was throwing me off there.

also not sure about this one:

Joyce McKelve murder, kids separated.

The 1988 VA policeman I'm 99.9% sure is John Martin.

in case anyone was wondering, here are the answers to the rest.

Marjorie Kim is a lost love segment. IIRC, a young couple had twins, but their families didn't agree with each other, and each family was told that one of the twins died, but that wasn't actually the case. Searching for the other twin.

Oscar Norton is also a lost love segment. This one concerned a caucasian man with a huge family. He had developed a terminal illness and told a family member that he had fathered a child with an African-American woman. After Oscar died, the African-American daughter called one of his relatives, but the family member Oscar told it to never passed it on and the relative figured it was a wrong number. Searching for the daughter.

Joyce McKelve is another lost love segment. Joyce had a total of 5 children. She had a few with her husband, but left him due to his violent temper. She had another child with another man, but eventually reunited with her husband. The husband didn't want a child that was not his own and forced Joyce to give her up for adoption. Joyce left her husband again after his violent ways continued. The husband murdered Joyce while she was hosting a Christmas party. One of her daughters is searching for the daughter Joyce had to put up for adoption.

Roberto Ramirez is a drug dealer wanted for the attempted murder of 2 police officers. He is notorious for literally hiding behind his wife' skirt.

"Laurie" was kidnapped by a group of men while at a bar. One of them violently raped her at his apartment. It appeared that he was trying to kill her afterwards, but she was able to struggle out of it and run to safety.
