but GOOD TIMES still manages to outperform the Jeffersons in syndication. Something I will never ever understand.
Good Times dealt with Suicide, Drugs, Unemployment, Gangs, Poverty, and Eviction but the Jeffersons was more on a uplifting tone which dealt with Halloween parties, Dinner Parties, Disco Dancing, Game Shows, Vacations like Hawaii, and back and forth banters between the characters who really liked each other. So why does Good Times always outperform the Jeffersons, WHY???????????????????????????????-LOL-LOL |

What makes you think Good Times outperforms The Jeffersons? The Jeffersons airs a little more than Good Times right now on TV One and for TV Land- The Jeffersons contract is up, the one for Good Times is not (until next June)- so that's why it will continue to air in August.
The Jeffersons have also had more marathons/blocks on TV Land than Good Times in recent months. I would guess The Jeffersons actually does slightly better than Good Times or they do about the same. As far as the content, I find Good Times very uplifting. The Evans live in the projects, the Jeffersons live in a deluxe apartment- obviously they're going to have different situations. I probably find The Jeffersons to be a funnier show, but it doesn't "warm the heart" the same way that Good Times does. |

I have not seen the Jeffersons stay on a cable channel consistently like Good Times. good Times have been on TV One since 2004 so let's ssee if the Jeffersons can be on TV One until 2014 |

Probably because Good Times uses buffoonery. You're laughing at J.J. not with him. The Jeffersons is more situational. Like let's put George in Hawaii, let's give George a white in-law, let's put George with a bunch of little kids, etc.,.

Put it this way, The Jeffersons wasn't preachy, it was meant to be funny. The writing was a lot better on the Jeffersons. Good Times used to be my #1 favorite show, but I bumped it to number two, (behind Sanford and Son) because at times, I had a hard time looking at certain scenes, it was drama in a sitcom, and I appreciate the realism, but I watch sitcoms to laugh, not be intimidated.
But I see what you mean Solomon that Good Times does better in syndication than the Jeffersons. When people talk about black 70s sitcoms, Good Times is usually the first people mention. I also think it has a better appeal to younger viewers too. |

My cousin who is 33 never had no interest in the Jeffersons, it was always Good Times. And I was thinking it was because the two main characters looked like a couple in their 60's and had no little kids |
