Duff Joins Gossip Girl

Singer/actress Hilary Duff is set to join the cast of hit U.S. drama Gossip Girl- as a famous movie star.

The 21 year old will feature in several upcoming episodes, opposite show regulars Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley, as a celebrity studying at New York University.

Her first appearance on the show is set to air in the U.S. in October, according to EW.com.

Hilary Duff's career is so bad right now (not Lindsay Lohan bad mind you) that she has to stoop to participating on a threesome on a CW TV show to get attention! It seems like an awfully pathetic and desperate attempt by Hilary Duff to shed her cute, Lizzie Maguire image by appearing on Gossip Girl. It sort of reminds me of the end of Grease when Olivia Newton John is suddenly dressing up like biker tart. I think that there are much more constructive ways to try to "stretch" your acting abilities than by appearing on a sleazy CW show. The CW in my estimation, has to resort to stuff like heavily promoting a "threesome" because they don't really have much else substantial to offer otherwise.
