Hip Hop Magazine "Vibe" Goes Out of Business
Gawker pointed us to this article on Daily Finance with the scoop: “Vibe magazine, the urban-music magazine founded in 1993 by Quincy Jones, is the latest victim of the media recession. A source with knowledge of the situation tells DailyFinance that the staff has learned the magazine is ceasing publication, and assistants in the offices of editor in chief Danyel Smith and publisher Edgar Hernandez confirmed the news.”
Is this just another sign of the music industry’s decline? Or are new media sources edging out major music magazines with their free online content? Was Vibe out of touch with the hip hop scene? Most likely, it’s a combination of all three. http://flavorwire.com/27557/breaking...-shutting-down |
