Default I'm not surprised TV LAND lacks the creativity to air this type of M. Jackson Tribute

Instead of airing that GOOFY a$$ movie-"THe Jacksons" someone in the programming department could have had the brain power to have a nice tribute like this from 2pm to 10pm

2pm-Motown's 25th Anniversary

3pm-Jackson Five appearance on Flip Wilson

4pm-Jackson Five appearance on Cher

5pm-Jackson Five Appearance on Carol Burnett

6pm-Soul Train ep when Michael does Robot dance

7pm-The Jacksons Variety Show with Redd Foxx as guest

8pm-Jackson Five appearance on Ed Sullivan Show

9pm-Michael Jackson appearance at 1984 Grammys

I can't comprehend why two different networks is airing that ******** a$$ Jacksons Movie which was just thrown together.

Maybe they couldn't get the rights to some of those shows?? How come no one is showing The Wiz? That was really Michael's only feature film appearance - in character.

Airing that movie is like showing highlights of Michael Jordan's baseball career when he dies-lol

Just has no business being seen at a moment like this.

Not only that but they are airing the movie TWICE-lol TV LAND needs blown the F*CK up. TV One had enough sense to celebrate the life of michael by airing different types of programs gerared toward his career

Still, it WAS his only feature film and co-starring role. That should count for something. It was actually during the making of The Wiz that MJ hooked up with Quincy Jones, who scored the movie. Off the Wall was released the next year and the rest is "HIStory"!!

Too bad someone couldn't reair those 1984 Grammys. He pretty much was the whole show that year.

The movie is something they already had the rights to and if they had access to most of what you are suggesting it would have already been played on MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, BET over the last couple days. What they have for Jackson 5 is performances from American Bandstand and a fake video from that movie.

The Jackson 5 performances from American Bandstand sounds a lot better than the Jackson Movie

TV land at one time used to go out and try to get these shows if it was needed....remember the John Ritter Tribute Week. I'm sure they didn't have access to all those shows but they went out and got them. TV Land just doesn't care about anything much anymore except their reality shows.

I don't care what you say Solomon, I loved "The Wiz" It was one of those movies that did better as it got reran rather than at the box-office. I saw it as a kid, I loved it then, and I still love it now. I own the DVD. Maybe it didn't have the global appeal like the "Wizard Of Oz" but the Wiz is one of those few movies that can get away with being a remake unlike all the crap that's being remade now. Remember, it was 1978, and there was only a handful of black movies. They had an all-star black cast too.

But you have to remember, John Ritter was a huge TV star. Michael Jackson, while one of the greatest entertainers ever, was not a TV star. TV Land didn't even have to show a tribute, but they're showing that movie, which I think is more than enough.

MTV is still doing a tribute to Michael Jackson. The cable stations are airing specials on him still tonight.
