I'm interested to know how some sitcoms rated, especially their average rankings for certain years they were on the air. Can anyone tell me the ratings of shows such as:
Married with Children Mork and Mindy Good Times SOAP The Wonder Years Webster Benson Any more you wish to discuss feel free. |

Married with Children went from early '87 to '97. It never ranked in the top twenty-five. Most likely because it was on Fox which doesn't have the same reach around the country as ABC, NBC, or CBS. The only Fox shows ever to make the top twenty-five were The X-Files and The Simpsons. King of the Hill and Malcolm in the Middle also made it but that was primarily because The Simpsons was their lead in.
Mork and Mindy went from '78 to '82. During the '78-79 season it ranked # 3 in the Nielsens with a 28.6 rating. It was a really popular show but never made the top twenty five again because the producers decided during the second year to do more "meaningful storylines" rather than the slapstick that had made the show the hit it was. Good Times began in early '74 and lasted until '79. During the '73-74 season it was ranked # 17 with a 21.4 rating. The '74-75 season it was # 7 with a 25.8 rating. And the '75-76 it ranked # 24 with a 21.0 rating. It never made the top twenty-five after that. SOAP went from '77-81. In the '77-78 season it was # 13 with a 22.0 rating. '78-79 it was # 19 with a 21.3 rating. And '79-80 it was # 25 with a 20.5 rating. It faded into obscurity the following year. Wonder Years started in early '88 and lasted until '93. The '87-88 season it was # 10 with an 18.8 rating. '88-89 it was # 22 with a 16.3 rating. And '89-90 it was # 8 with a 19.2 rating. It never made the top twenty-five after that. Webster went from '83-87. The '83-84 season it squeaked in at # 25 with a 17.2 rating. And the following season '84-85 it was again at # 25 with a 17.0 rating. It never made the top twenty-five again. Benson lasted seven years from '79-86. But only made the top twenty-five once, it's first year '79-80 when it was # 23 with a 20.6 rating. |
