Taped at New York 's Madison Square Garden , this special earmarked Jackson 's first live US performance in nearly 11 years and the first reunion with his brothers in 20 years. The roster of performers and guests include Destiny's Child, Whitney Houston, 'N Sync, 98 Degrees, Usher, Mya, Chris Tucker and a host of others including some surprise guests. An encore telecast is scheduled for 11pm
.
* On Friday, June 26 at 1am, TV One airs the TV Guide special “Michael Jackson: The Life and Times of The King Of Pop”, an hour-long documentary celebrating the prolific life of Michael Jackson; from his start in Gary, Indiana with the Jackson 5 to his untimely death on June 25, 2009. * On Saturday, June 27 at 12pm, TV One airs the 5-hour miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream,” the award winning mini-series that takes a look at the origins of one of the most successful family groups in the history of the music industry. The Jacksons are your average working-class family in Gary , Indiana ; but when their father discovers the kids have an extraordinary musical talent they form a band. Winning talent show after talent show they soon hit it big when Motown calls. From there they become the now famous Jackson 5, where lead singer Michael Jackson became a superstar later to be known as ‘The King of Pop’. Their meteoric rise to fame was unprecedented, but along the way their success brings trouble and turmoil. An encore airing is scheduled for 7pm.

The topic is fine where it's at but I personally think it should've been started in the music forum.

I'm surprised no one (as of this writing) is broadcasting The Wiz. Michael's performance as The Scarecrow was far and away the best part of the movie!!

I would love to see The Wiz. I hope someone decides to show it in the coming days.

Pardon me but The Whiz is HORRIBLE and one of the WORST movies ever- lol..horrible remake on top of it. Let's just stick to Michael's music. His acting wasn't bad, just the movie was ****.

I know the movie itself wasn't good but Michael definitely shone. Plus, it was during the making of this movie that he became acquainted with Quincy Jones, who composed the score. The next year came Off the Wall - and the rest is, well, "HIStory".

Quincy Jones & MJ were amazing- producer to musician wise. Truly amazing.

Yeah, I have to admit I wasn't crazy about the movie, either,(I think I actually saw it in the movie theater!) but I loved "Ease on Down the Road".

This announcement was too late which is why I missed it. It was posted the same night the tributes were airing so it was no way I was going to see it. Not sure if you had time on Thursday but this thread was posted 30 mins before the first tribute

Solomon, if you can "read," you'll see encore dates/times for each one at the end of each paragraph.

I think TV One is doing a very good job, even though I don't get them. They are top-notch.

Well I saw the 30th Anniversay thing but had no interest. I watched the TV guide tribute on the T guide channel so the only I need to see is the Video tribute on 6/29/09
