Shout Factory Thread about The Facts of Life on DVD - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I know I am grasping at straws here, but on the Shout Factory website there's a thread about The Facts of Life. What made me happy was that someone from Shout Factory said they have looked into releasing The Facts of Life on DVD in the past. He said it didn't work, but they would look into in the future. Maybe if we post how much we love the show on that forum, it will get Shout Factory's attention. They do listen, even if Sony doesn't. Hey, it's worth a shot!

But Sony has the rights to it, I dont think anyone else can release it even if they wanted to as long as Sony has the rights

Shout Factory could lease the rights from Sony and then put the series out on DVD. That's what Shout Factory's business model is. They lease shows from rights holders that are hesitant about releasing them and put them out in season sets. Everybody wins. The rights holder gets the lease money. Shout Factory gets all profits over and above the lease cost. And of course we, the fans, get our shows on DVD.
