I can live with replaced music (depending on the show), no extras, split seasons, even re-releasing seasons in a complete series set with extras. But releasing edited episodes is really obnoxious and disrespectful to fans, like Warner with Mama's Family season 1 (unless the unedited episodes have deteriorated beyond salvaging) second only to studio's failing to release the complete series, especially shows that are generally considered to be classic or milestone shows, like the MTM shows, All in the Family, Maude, etc.

I like to have seasons unedited but if is so happens they are edited, I can live with that. To me that is not a really big deal.

Replacing music, dvd sets that are cheaply made, sets that have double sided discs, releasing so many seasons & then not bothering to release the rest instead they release the complete series or releasing the first season & noth bothering to release future seasons.

Those to me are more of a serious nature then if the seasons are edited.

I can't pick one from these..but my biggest beef's are:

Releasing shows with edited episodes (I dont think I've been impacted with those shows I purchased but would dislike if I was)

Releasing a full series of a show with wonderful extras after fans have purchased season by season (I'd prefer complete series sets to save space and time, but i actually prefer the packaging of the season sets)

The delay (or halt) of seasons of a show being released halfway through (I've been lucky so far with the series I've bought)

No Season 2 after you wait forever for Season 1 (Mama's Family)

Not completing a series with their follow-up series or reunion shows (The Golden Girls/Golden Palace)

Splitting seasons of shows in half (Dynasty)

Changing the packaging in the middle of dvd season releases (ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS)

All of the above, but two of my biggest are not showing original opening titles for some shows. Example: Bewitched is my all-time favorite, and none of the DVDs have the original openings, which is annoying. Also, failure to include any extras, such as the "in color" tags which preceded shows from the mid-60s onwards, or even ".....will be back in a moment" bumpers which always aired just before the epilogue on most shows.

Maybe small things, but it just adds to the overall enjoyment. I've always been of the opinion that if that's the way the shows originally aired, they should be that way on DVD sets.

I agree about Bewitched. There's so much material that could have been included in this cult favorite/classic series. It looks like the Erin Murphy commentary is the only additional extra to the complete series set, but maybe, just maybe will be surprised with more???!!!!(and I don't consider the theatrical release an extra to the tv series)

I love that kind of stuff as well. I think it adds a LOT to a set, giving viewers an experience quite a bit closer to the original.

Even an edited tag would be better than none. In syndication for very late years of My Three Sons, for example, prior to the opening animation we see Fred MacMurray, seated and saying "Hi! Welcome to our show" -- where apparently the original's complete line was "our show for Chevrolet." At least the part that is seen and heard is better than nothing! I hope that the end credits are slowed back down if we ever get that far as well (reportedly sped up for syndication packages).

Elizabeth did that too in the latter seasons of Bewitched. At the beginning she would appear and say "Hi, Stay tuned for Bewitched...Next...In Color."

Mine are:

- Replacing the original TV Closing logos on some shows. Sony and CBS-Paramount and/or even 20th Century Fox Television/News Corp. do this a heck of a lot. Although some shows originally never really had a TV closing logo to begin with.

- Replacing music with cheap music scores. It's one thing to save up on muisc issues but to replace them with horrid, cheap music pakcages? That makes your DVD's of some shows sound and/or look cheap. CBS-Paramount is very guilty of that practice, especially on their DVD's for "The Fugitive" and the 2nd and 3rd seasons of "Happy Days" DVD's.

- Bad DVD labels. If your DVd Label Box cover looks cheap, chances are your whole DVD set will come out and look cheap.

- Releasing a show and/or delaying or never releasing the rest of the series. Don't disappoint your fans by promising to release another season of a cetain show and leaving them hanging for far too long.

- Lack of extras and/or bogus editing. If you're gonna put a show on DVD, at least include something that's never seen in syndication or since its original reruns. And when you put a show on DVD, don't butcher the episodes up to oblivion. Sony did this with their DVD set of "227" by haphazardly cramming episodes onto discs.

My biggest beefs:

Paramount splitting some of its shows into volume sets - like Love Boat, Dynasty. I prefer paying more to buy the complete season instead of volume sets.

Companies such as Paramount, Sony, and MGM stalling on their DVD releases.

One I have: CBS using silver discs for its television releases. This makes it difficult for me to submit pictures to Amazon (I do so quite a bit, being that you can submit your own pictures of a release).
