"Police said the incident involved a rift within the Loners motorcycle clubs of London and Toronto and both current and former members.
The bikers, police said, were split on whether to join the Hells Angels. Several bikers were charged and convicted. In 1992, the body of David O'Neil of Putnam was found in a shallow grave on a little-used country road north of Dutton. O'Neil's body was found with three bullet wounds in the head in what was described as a "gangland" style slaying. Rumours circulated that bikers got rid of O'Neil over fears related to police investigations. O'Neil was wanted by police for the murder of Ingersoll police officer Scott Rossiter on Sept. 19, 1991. His .38-calibre revolver was not found. " |
