anyone know where i can purchase copies of the NBC broadcasts? preferebly on DVD but VHS would work

I'm always on he lookout for these too. I sometimes think I would fare better looking for Jimmy Hoffa, lol. Over the years, I've found a couple people with collections of NBC airings of Unsolved Mysteries. I tried to find other shows I thought they might be interested in and we did some trading. A few years ago, some guy was selling off a bunch of old tapes on one of the tape trading newsgroups. He indicated that some of the tapes had Unsolved Mysteries episodes on them so I made him a cash offer and got every Unsolved tape he had. There were some good 1988/1989 NBC episodes on the tapes as well as a couple of the specials (specials 6 and 7, IIRC). I found another guy selling old tapes on Ebay. I didn't win the auction, but I contacted him about it later and he had DVDR copies of those tapes which he sold me copies of. You have to keep your eyes open. It's not easy, but they are out there and sometimes it takes some work or the right offer to get them. I'm always open to trading what I have. Unfortunately, the majority of the people who contact me offer cash or blank discs, which I think is kind of silly considering the time and energy I have put into building my collection. Like I said, they are out there.

oh...well I'm not really into the "trading" thing (since I don't have a way to copy my VHS tapes and the episodes I have are from Lifetime so we all have them)

it would be nice if someone was able to sell this material on a DVD since it's not on air anymore. why were all the "Best Of's" put out instead of seasons? i'd much rather see the original intro's and stuff.
