Sorry, but I can't stand this show. I've only watched one episode in it's entirety. It was a spoof of my favorite movie of all time, "Roman Holiday" and it was kind of cute, until they had Gregory Peck's character calling Audrey Hepburn's character a bitch. I'm sorry but that's what's wrong with TV today. Just sad. After watching that, I vowed never to watch it again. I don't think it's a funny show at all anyway.

BTW, you all probably know what a huge Audrey Hepburn fan I am, so yes, I was a bit offended. Call me ridiculous, but when it comes to Audrey, I'm pretty touchy.

TV

Highly overrated. Unfunny (most of the time). And Seth MacFarlane's American Dad is even worse. Just my opinion.

More so in the middle since the show has 'Jumped the Shark'.

for me it's overrated as hell. my brothers and sister all love it but i absolutely detest it. i find a lot of the humour in bad taste and also, it seems as if the show's jokes rely on spoofs of old tv shows and films. i know it is supposed to be a joke and it is trying to be funny, but quite frankly this type of toilet humour just doesn't interest me one bit. it is silly, juvenile and lame.

how the hell it has managed to last as long as this is just bewildering really; all the cartoons series in the 60s to late 90s never lasted more than 2 seasons at least, but those shows had memorable characters, storylines, theme songs and catchphrases that have lasted a long time. and yet shows like family guy and american dad are around, whilst with children's cartoons in general with cartoon network going downhill, young kids have practically nothing good to watch in that department. tragic or what?

family guy frankly has none of that. also, when it spoofed one of my favourite tv shows, caroline in the city, i was appalled really. that in particular led to my dislike of this show.

It is overrated. But I do like it. And yes, it won't be liked by everyone but no show ever is.

I used to really like this show but even since it came back, and particularly the last year or so, it's been nothing but a format for Seth McFarlane's political views. I agree with some of them, but that's beside the point. Entertain me, don't preach to me!

Plus the characterizations have gotten fuzzier and less consistent, and the show in general grows increasingly mean in its tone.

i just never saw the appeal of this show at all. freakazoid was a 90s cartoon show from warner bros that was similar to family guy in terms of satire-like humour and spoofing celebs, tv shows and films but it was done in an smart way which made it more interesting and funny, and that i liked a lot. unlike family guy, which i personally think demeans and degrades people. family guy is rather much like jerry springer- as in it's trailer trash.

to each their own i suppose.
