How many boyfriends/girlfriends have you had? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've only had one in my entire life. You could say I had two since I was once going out with this one woman named Delyla, but we basically just dated every now and then, and it never really felt like much of a relationship. Especially since she would have like 5 different guys calling her throughout the course of one of our dates. I've been asked out quite a few times, but as far as being in a real relationship goes, I've only experienced that once. How about you all. How many relationships have you been in?? I haven't either. Even though I have had six "relationships", not all of them lasted very long. One, infact, only lasted a couple of weeks.

I have had four boyfriends. I had two in high school. One I dated during my sophmore year. I didn't have a boyfriend during my junior year. I dated my second boyfriend during our senior year and during the first year of college. I've had two relationship in past five years.

My story is exactly the same except the few people I've been out with were women not guys!

I always think of that quote from "Some Kind of Wonderful" that says "I'd rather be alone for the right reasons than with someone for the wrong ones..."

There's an incredible pressure in our society to be WITH someone, sometimes ANYONE, to assure everyone you're not asexual or going to end up all alone, both of which are probably preferable to being with someone you don't really love.

Our society greatly underestimates the value of friendship; it can often be better and deeper than a romantic relationship. I've had some very deep friendships and one or two that I thought were "more" but ultimately weren't...but I wouldn't have traded them for the world.

^ You are so right. Plus, I don't care what "they" say. I would like to meet Mr. Right someday, if one is out there for me. If not, it's OK, too.

I've known so many young women who were so worried that they didn't "have someone" that they got together with the first uhm...gentleman...that paid attention to them, and the results were disastrous. Unplanned and often unwanted children, a dead end, loveless marriage/relationship, financial hardships, alcohol and spousal abuse...all because of being afraid of being alone.

But say something like that in mixed company and you're in for an earful...lol...
