This episode was about a rich young man who always had an interest in homeless people. He met a black guy (forgot his name) who was living on the streets and he ended up living on the streets with him for several days at a time. Eventually his family went to check on him in his apartment and he had disappeared. Now his family approached the homeless man and he said nothing. They stated the brother saw this guy again a few months later on the street and approached him "where is my brother" and he said something to the likes " live on the streets and you will find your answer"
Does anyone have any updates on this episode? Did they ever find this guy? |

Adam Hecht. Unfortunately, they have never found him. He's still listed on several missing persons sites.

As stated above, sadly there is no closure on this case.
I think the best guess is that Adam went to live on the streets with homeless people as he felt bad for them, and then he probably met with foul play. While what he did was somewhat noble, I'm sure some people on the streets would have a different view. I can imagine some might think, "Who does this rich guy think he is? Does he honestly think he knows what it feels like to be homeless?" I can see him getting beaten up or killed over that. Or maybe someone tried to extort money out of him. Sad as it is, I doubt there will ever be closure on this short of finding his body some day. I'm 99% convinced he died within a few years after living on the streets. |

That being said, I think it should be stated that there are some other possibilities: 1.The possibility still remains that his homeless friend may have killed him inadvertently and left his body in the streets. Without ID, Adam may have placed amongst the dozens of John Does that show up as unsolved murders. 2. Drug dealing and homelessness mix together. Homeless people usually are drug dealers best customers. It;s not impossible that Adam messed around with some drug dealers customers and that angered dealers. Especially if Adam was trying to reform some of them. 3. Adam was rich and would inherit money at some point. It's far fetched but it should be mentioned. Especially considering that having Adam killed on the street would provide a perfect excuse for him to be dead. Some homeless people may have latched on to the premise that he was rich and killed him in a botched ransom attempt. |
