I kind of agree with you on this dvdmaker. I've actually had difficulty on other boards in the past with people not wanting to trade overseas, and not even responding to emails because of this (which is very rude). I personally don't see why it should be an issue, other than PAl/NTSC issues (which in the days of multi-region players, should not be a problem) or postage costs.
But yeah, I've been finding it difficult to get trades lately as well. I think it's more of a case of everyone being tied up with trades and other stuff rather than not wanting to though. That's one of the interesting things about trading though: one month you might barely get a trade, while the next you could get several. |

I agree with Wiseguy, the additional postage may very well be a
major factor. I have made 3-4 trades with FoxyMulder (UK) and the postage is close to $200. I also have 350 discs ready to ship and it'll come close to another $50.00 ! Foxy is an excellent trader who trades complete sets, well worth my time. I have noticed that when you post looking for something you seem to ask for a couple discs of what you are looking for, and not complete sets. Just recently, you requested some onesie twosies from me, and I just didn't see the worth of the trade, so I declined. Nothing against you, or where you are, I just didn't want to pay the extra for that kind of trade. We do want to trade with you, but it needs to be worth it for both parties. Good luck in your trading. CaptSpiffy |

Yes people have come out and said that they do not trade with people outside of Us.I know it can be expensive to post this is why i only like to do small trades of up to 10 dvds. But there are some people who only want to do big trades of 50 -100 discs at at time,or they only want complete series .I couldn't afford that I do all dvds region free.

I know there are a lot of great traders overseas. You guys seem to do very well in trading circles.

If one desires BBC material, the best source would be from the U.K. but if it's American shows, the question is why trade with the boys from the U.K. when the same shows are available from a U.S. trader? Shipping is less, no custom hassles, turn around is quicker and less chance for items to be lost, besides no pal conflicts.
I know it's difficult for a U.K. trader to increase his collection but that is not the reason for someone from the states to trade overseas. I trade with one chap from the U.K. because he gets much stuff not readily available from U.S. traders and one chap from Ottawa. Canadian costs are only slightly higher then here in the states. [QUOTE][ why trade with the boys from the U.K. when the same shows are available from a U.S. trader? Shipping is less, no custom hassles, turn around is quicker and less chance for items to be lost, besides no pal conflicts.
/QUOTE] There are Many Factors involved in why folks trade overseas. Size of collection Reputation Speed of trade completion. Shipping etc I have completed many trades sucesfully and traders have actually commented on the how fast the discs have arived taking 4 days to arrive from uk to usa. Faster than your own domestic mail shipping in some cases. Would you trade with someone from the u.s who had no or little feedback. With the chance of getting ripped of and then having to pay more in the end to get the same shows elsewhere. There are very little if 0 scammers from the UK. Have you seen any posted on the bad trader section on sitcom anywhere or savage sites/ Most are from the USA. So think twice before you go knocking of overseas trading |

This is not knocking overseas trading but giving my honest opinion. I can send 70 disks domestically for $4.95 but overseas the same to the U.K. would cost $14.00. If I can't get it elsewhere, yes U.K. is great, but if I can find the same item here, I will trade locally. Harvey |
