What are your top 10 shows aquired by Nick at Nite this decade? (2000-2009)
1. Roseanne (2003-2009) - As a kid, I didn't like the show. A few years later, I starting watching it on TBS after school. It wasn't until it came to Nick at Nite that I became a diehard fan. I think it's one of the bravest, and greatest shows in the history of television. 2. Three's Company (2000-2004, 2005, 2006) - I loved the show when I was little. When it came to Nick at Nite though, I was able to watch it more often, and actually understand the jokes. Up to that point, I never laughed at anything on telelvision as much as I did when Three's Company was on. 3. The Facts of Life (2000-2001) - One of my favorite shows as a kid, and one of the best shows Nick at Nite ever had. It didn't seem to "click" THAT well with the Nick at Nite audience. Maybe it came to the lineup at the wrong time. 4. Full House (2003-2009) - I've always been a huge fan. I was ecstatic when it came to Nick at Nite. I used to record it every night (In 2003, I didn't think Full House would ever make it to DVD, yet alone be completed on DVD, then have a box set containing all 192 episodes!). It's up there with a lot of the greats as one of the longest-serving Nick at Nite shows ever (5+ years). 5. Family Matters (2008-present) - I haven't really watched it on Nick at Nite, but it's always been one of my top favorites. It's doing well (at midnight nonetheless), so hopefully it will be on Nick at Nite for years to come. 6. Growing Pains (2007-2008) - Another one of my absolute favorites. And another example of good shows being treated like garbage by Nick at Nite. I understand you have to make certain decisions if a show doesn't do well(dumping it to the graveyard shift, only airing it on weekends, completely removing it from the schedule), but Growing Pains didn't even get a chance. 7. Family Ties (2001-2003) - I always heard about the show, but I only started watching because of the Nick at Nite reruns earlier in the decade ("Camp Nick a Nite" anyone!?). I went from a curious, casual viewer, to a big fan of the show. 8. Who's The Boss? (2004-2006) - I liked the show when I was a little kid. I was glad when it came to Nick at Nite in June 2004. At first, I didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered, but as time passed, I became a fan again. I was sad to see it go, but honestly, it lasted longer on the network than I thought it would. 9. Charles In Charge (2002-2003) - Another childhood favorite of mine. I had no clue it was even on Nick at Nite before I came across it at 4am one late summer night/early morning. I remember I got really loud and excited that night. It was a real surprise. Nick at Nite sort of just snuck it in there. Not long after, there was one of those mini-marathons from 9pm-midnight. I think that was the one and only time they aired it in primetime. Charles In Charge lasted 8 months on Nick at Nite (August 2003-April 2004). 10. The Cosby Show (2002-2008) - My family use to watch it and laugh a lot. I never found it funny, or had any interest in watching the show. After a while though, I learned to tolerate it. I no longer had the urge to change the channel when it came on. I still wouldn't call myself a fan (yet), but I do enjoy the show from time to time. And in a way, The Cosby Show was the turning point for the new direction of Nick at Nite. Sure they already had a few 1980's hits (Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Cheers, Family Ties), but none of them exploded like The Cosby Show did. I think it's a little responsible for the likes of Roseanne, Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, etc. joining Nick at Nite in recent years. The Cosby Show made the network transition from '70s/'80s hits, to more or less, '90s blockbusters (as far a Nick at Nite is concerned). And I think it was also one of the first shows the network picked to outshine all of the other shows on the network with constant marathons, about 6 airings daily, and eventually just overplayed the series (Roseanne and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air also got this grand treatment). |

I can't remember all the shows Nick at Nite has aquired, but of those you mentioned...
Full House Family Ties Growing Pains The Cosby Show I actually used to hate The Cosby Show when it was on primetime, and didn't start to like it until it was on Nick at Nite. How weird is that? |
