Default I'm a grown man and had a panic attack whie I was outside in a thunderstorm this

morning. It was raining very hard and thundering and lightin and I had to walk past so many trees on my way to work and my heart was beating fast and POUNDING through my chest and I was sweating and was very scared and out of breath by time I got to work. Very Sacry Experience since I hate being outside during a thunderstorm

man that was scary

I don't blame you, Sol. I'm almost 30 and am terrified of thunderstorms. It's so funny...a couple of years ago I'd gone to bed and it's storming outside. My folks are in the living room watching TV. All of a sudden a loud crack of lightning and thunder comes and without thinking, I dash into the living room where my folks are and dive onto the couch next to my mom, shaking like a puppy. They didn't say too much, since they are used to my phobias. But yeah, caught outside in one is horrible.

Being outside in a thunderstorm is not as scary as being outside in a lightningstorm.

Thunderstorms dont scare me much but yesterday we had a Tornado watch. Thankfully it was just a watch now those things really concern me.

Oh man, I think any kind of storm is scary, so I don't blame you! Wow, I can't imagine being outside in one. When I was in college, I was driving home from Houston with my roommate and we got caught in a tornado. It was probably a sign from God since I wasn't supposed to drive my car anywhere except around campus. I took a chance and when we got back to school I was so happy I started hugging my dorm building!

It's perfectly understandable, Sol. There are grown people who are afraid and have panic attacks over many different things. Just because you are very fearful of something does not mean you are immature or weak - it's just being a human - for most people, some fears are more terrifying than others.

As far as thunderstorms go, I love watching them while I'm inside my house. But when the sky turns green, that's when I start getting scared - that's usually the first sign that a tornado is arriving.

Lightning and thunder are part of the same storm. Thunder is caused by lightning.

Thunder Storms are scary, and having a panic attack is even worse so I'm sorry you went through that. We had some bad thunder and lightning last night I almost hid under the dinning room table

Don't get many where I live and when they do happen, it is usually in the mountains.
But I do feel uncomfortable, too, when they occur. Because I know that if you can hear thunder, that means there is a chance of lightning striking where I am.

I actually love thunderstorms. I find something so romantic about them. I do prefer being indoors though
