Default Red Barn Restaurants

Does anyone remember these restaurants? We had one in our area years ago, but it closed when I was a little boy. I heard there was great food there. I think they use our old Red Barn for storage now.

I think there was one in Ohio, if I'm not mistaken. It was in the Bainbridge/Russell Township area. Anyone know for sure?

Sure do! Had the worst hamburgers in history!

For a long time they seemed to use the old buildings for Honda (bike) dealerships but I can't say I've seen one in ages - problably most have been torn down (at least here in Canada).

We no longer have Ponderosa's here either but you can easily tell where they were by the design of the building. lol

We had a Ponderosa in our area from 1986 - 2007. It was sad when they closed. When they first opened, it was great and always packed. Towards the end, the food was terrible and it would always be empty inside.

I remember Red Barn restaurants when I was a kid. I don't know if I ever went to one. They had cute commercials about them on local TV, though.

My husband keeps talking about the Ponderosa steak house he used to go to as a kid with his family. He misses it deeply.

I grew up with several Ponderosas around - the last one in my area (just around the corner from my office building) just closed. There's now a sports bar in the old Ponderosa.

I remember that restaurant!! I'm in California and I remember they were McDonald's rivals. There were two in my city, my parents took me there a few times. I was 8 I think.

I used to go to Red Barn and Ponderosa for a burger and fries.

There was one in Mayfield Heights when I was living there (1960-1974), and it was on Mayfield Road between Mayfield Ridge and Lander roads.

I live near an old red barn. It's now a Gabe's. (I wish I could give you pics, but the Red Barn Site can't seem to do so.)

I've never been to one, but I looked at the website and it looks like they're a fun place to be! My childhood was all about either the McDonald's play palace or Chuck E Cheese's.
