Sad Air France jet goes missing over the Atlantic with 228 aboard

Very odd that they don't know where it's at, and I'm very skeptical that turbulence or lightning could bring a plane this size down. Turbulence is a regular thing and lightning strikes many planes a year with very little effect. Regardless though, a terrible tragedy and not knowing what happened makes it worse.

I had the same feeling as you. Like something fishy is going on here. I remember being on a few flights where we had to go through some rough turbulance. That is a really scary feeling. My heart goes out to the families and the victims.

Well the story has taken a whole new turn now... they found some debris yesterday that included an airline seat, they assumed it was from this flight, well according to Brazilian officials it wasn't. Apparently now they have yet to find a single trace of this plane anywhere or the passengers onboard. Something's not right here.

Where did the airline seat come from?

This is just so sad and devastating. I can't imagine what the family members who had loved ones on that plane are feeling. There was a news story on Yahoo's home page today about four people who, due to different circumstances and events that came up, ended up missing the Air France 447 plane. It's a miracle for them to be alive, however, so sad because of the 228 that have lost their lives.

Yes, its all everyone's said above: sad, devastating, scary, creepy and FISHY. I hate flying. I will only go on a plane if I absolutely have to - I fly once every 4 or 5 years, and as far as I'm concerned the less the better. And all they found out abt that Colgan flight to Buffalo sends shivers down my spine. I'll never fly on one of those commuter planes. (sigh) But if I ever go to Europe, I'll probably have to get onto a tin can.
