For a while, there was a big push to get a lot of different shows released to DVD. These were shows that were very popular in the day but that are no longer being syndicated. However, this push seems to have fizzled out for most of these shows. The only two pages of this site in which people still seem to post messages about this concern are the "Facts of Life" and "Happy Days". One complaint that a lot of people on the "Facts of Life" page tend to have is that time and effort that could be used to make DVDs of classic shows like that is instead used to release every episode ever made of shows like "Seinfeld". They refer to shows like that as mindless crap! They even come up with vulger nicknames for the show! Well, one series that is very close behind "Seinfeld" in terms of shows that they complain about is "Friends"! It seems to be the pattern for people who are into Generation X shows like "Facts of Life" tend to detest Yuppie type shows like "Seinfeld" and "Friends". I am wondering if it works the other way around. I would love to hear from "Friends" fans who would be willing to tell me what they think of series from the late seventies and early eighties like the "Facts of Life"!
